36: Aspect Awakening Trial 36: Aspect Awakening Trial Axel lay down in the pod, his mood wasnāt that good.
Seeing that bastard Ken, but there was nothing for him to do now.
He breathed in and out a few more times to relax his mind a bit more.
One of the staff members came in front of him and explained that the lid of the pod will be closed and he should not move in any way while the Nexus stone is being engraved onto his skin, it will be painful but he must endure it.
Well, he already knew all of that and all the staff members were explaining the same thing to everyone.
Soon, the lid of the pod closed down, his hands and feetās even his head, were tightly pressed down, with strong suction force from the pod, making him unable to move an inch.
Axel bit down on the piece of cloth that the staff member gave.
The process would be painful enough that everyone would gnash their teeth, and some might even end up breaking down from sheer pain.
There was a small opening on the transparent lid right above the section of his left hands wrist.
Someone wearing an apron and mask came in front of his pod a few moments later.
She looked almost like a nurse.
A box was floating right beside her.
She opened the box and took out a Nexus stone glowing in red.
But it wasnāt red, it was heated to the extreme on the verge of melting down.
After all, its composition was like a simple rock, but only much more unbreakable.
She picked up the glowing hot Nexus Stone with some kind of medical tool, which seemed to be resistant to heat.
The heat radiating from the rune was great enough that even he could feel it from within the pod.
Axel gulped down nervously and cursed, āFuck, this is going to hurt like a bitch.ā The woman wearing the apron and a mask said to him, āHold tight, this is going to sting a bit.ā Axel rolled his eyes, but did not say anything.
He was already biting down on the soft cloth in his mouth.
The women nodded, she put in the Nexus stone through the small gap.
The heat inside the pod instantly went up a notch.
Specially on his wrist.
The women without hesitation, pressed down the glowing hot nexus stone right on the back of Axelās left hand.
His entire body arched in pain, his body struggled madly, his left hand was literally being melting.
His eyes widened, muffled grown came out from his lips.
He was unable to move his body even an inch despite struggling madly.
But the women outside noticed that the pod itself was shaking ever so slightly, she showed a surprised expression beneath the mask.
But her grip was firm on the medical tool holding down the Nexus stone.
Slowly, the stone started to melt on his skin, the rune symbol on the Nexus stone was being plastered on his hand, but the pain continued to intensify nonetheless.
The painful part of the procedure wasnāt the physical pain of his skin being melted.
But the rune symbol of the Nexus stone will be engraved on his body as well as his soul.
Now that was the really painful part, and everyone had to endure it while being conscious.
The pain of something external being marked and burned in his soul is beyond comprehension of what mere words could describe.
The rune of the nexus stone had been engraved on the back of his left hand.
It was at first a common rune symbol that was the same on all the rune stones, which had transformed into a unique-looking rune symbol on his hand.
The skin on the back of his head had almost melted down.
The purpose of the heated nexus rune was not to melt the hand of the user, but simply to attach the rune symbol.
So, no matter how much it felt like burning, except for the skin, nothing else would melt down.
The unique-looking rune on his hand shimmered in a dim golden color.
It looked captivating and complex.
The rune stone was no more as it had completely melted and spread on the back of Axelās hand.
Many more loud, painful cries could be heard from many pods around.
Axel was much better off than those who had lost their mind completely in pain.
But the real pain would begin now, Axelās eyes were bloodshot.
The demon bloodline within him was being triggered by the sheer amount of pain he was feeling.
Axel said to himself, āCalm thoughts, Axel, calm thoughts.ā Then the single worst type of pain started assaulting him madly.
All the veins and muscles in his body tightened from the pain inflicted on the deepest depths of any being possible.
Even the restrictions placed on him by the magic pod failed to completely control his painful outburst.
Countless gut-wrenching screams were heard from other pods as every student was going through the same torturous soul pain.
Only Axel and a few other exceptionalās were howling in pain like mad beasts.
While Axel himself wasnāt screaming but the violent reaction of his greater was because of the demon bloodline within him.
The woman wearing an apron had already retracted the tool from within the pod, and the lid of the pod was completely closed.
But the pod itself was shaking.
She used her powers to stabilize the pod and held it down with more pressure.
Axel himself was still conscious, but he could barely keep his body from struggling with all its strength in response to the soul-piercing pain.
Blood was coming out of the nose and eyes.
While the newly placed Nexus Rune on his hand continued to glow and shimmer brightly.
After an unknown amount of time, he had no strength left to struggle anymore.
He did not know how long it had passed till now.
But the pain was slowly receding, unknowingly he found himself floating within an empty space, floating in the darkness.
But there was light, a red light that shone behind him as he looked backwards.
He saw a massive red sun hovering right over his head, on that sun was a bright yellow symbol.
Axel reckoned that it was his Nexus rune that was imprinted on his soul.
He inspected his surroundings, but there was nothing but darkness, while there seemed to be tiny specs of stars in the distance.
It truly felt like he was floating in the middle of space.
While facing the red sun, which was likely his soul.
Suddenly, a strange androgynous voice reverberated all around that soul space, Axel was caught off guard by that sudden voice, but seeing the robotic cryptic texts appear in front of him one after another, he realized he had finally been connected to the prime nexus.
He cheered internally.
The voice continued, The moment those words were spoken, the world in Axelās eyes turned dark.
For an unknown amount of time, there was nothing, he could not see, he could not hear, or feel, or do anything.
He could only think and hear his own thoughts, as if he had become void.
Axel went almost mad as his thoughts swung between sanity and insanity as if an eternity had passed.
Then there was finally a change.
Axel opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was his surroundings.
he was lying down in a narrow alleyway.
Where it was dark and damp, the smell of piss, wine, wastages invaded his nostrils.
A disgusted expression appeared on his face.
But strangely, he did not vomit.
As if his body was used to it.
Only then did he get the opportunity to look at himself.
Dirt and grime covered his whole body, he smelled like shit.
His body felt disgustingly weak.
The boy barely got up and went out of the alley as he saw countless people in medieval dresses walking on the streets, and carriages pulled by horses.
A noble couple wearing flashy clothes walks hand in hand.
There were even strange beings wearing hats flying through the sky.
He found the world itself far different than the continent of Eldarion.
He went towards the water fountain in the center of the roadway.
He looked at the reflection and saw the dirty figure of a 9 years old boy.
Just as he was about to put his hands on the water to try and clean himself.
An adult kicked him in the gut, which sent him rolling down.
It was one of the patrol guards of the city, He shouted, āYou disgusting cretin, how dare you dirty the fountains water.
