Chapter 109: No, I’m a goddamn Marksman

Dead Sea halted, his brow furrowing in an expression twisted into a mix of confusion and rage, as he watched Six casually holster his Maser Vibration Sword and instead draw two Desert Eagles.

"Why did you put your sword away?"

Dead Sea sneered.

"Aren’t you a swordsman?"

Six just chuckled, checking the chambers of his pistols before snapping them shut.

"Nah. I’m still a shitty swordsman compared to my teacher."

He admitted, rolling his shoulders. Then his grin widened.

"But I’m a crack shot—I could play an orchestra with a gun."

Before Dead Sea could process the words, the air was filled with thunder.

Then—

BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!

Six’s hands moved like a force of nature-no like a ghosts. His Observation Haki guiding his every step. Each shot of the Desert Eagles roared, the .50 AE rounds finding their mark with deadly precision, tearing through the air with bone-shattering force. Each pull of the trigger sent another Legionnaire crumpling to the ground.

One Legionnaire’s head snapped back—dead before he hit the ground.Another had his kneecaps blown out before a follow-up shot ended his suffering.A third tried to flee—Six didn’t even look as he fired over his shoulder, dropping the man mid-stride.

BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!—BANG!

The camp erupted into chaos. Legionnaires rushed forward in a desperate charge, but they were nothing more than moving targets.

A Legionnaire raised his rifle—BANG!A hole appeared between his eyes before he could even aim.

Another tried to throw a spear—BANG!The round took his arm clean off, the weapon spinning harmlessly away.

Six hands weaved through the panicked remnants of the battlefield, his pistols spitting death like instruments of war. Each step calculated, each shot placed with masterful precision.

A Legionnaire tried to flank him—he didn’t even turn, just twisted his wrist and fired, the .50 AE round blasting through the man’s chest.

Boone, still positioned on the ridge, paused for a brief moment, watching the spectacle unfold.

"Damn..."

Bang!

He muttered, before taking out another straggler trying to run.

Within moments, the camp fell silent.

Six blew the smoke from his barrels and holstered his pistols with a smirk.

"Told you. Orchestra."

Dead Sea stood frozen, his confidence shattered as his entire unit—hisarmy—had been wiped out in seconds. His men fell like wheat before the scythe. He gritted his teeth, gripping his gladius so tight his knuckles turned white.

"This... this isn’t possible."

He growled.

Six turned his gaze toward the commander, smoke curling from the barrels of his pistols.

"Possible? Buddy, you’re just learning whatrealwar looks like."

He snarled, trying to mask the fear creeping into his gut.

"You... You think this means anything? Caesar will—"

Dead Sea let out a battle cry and charged, raising his blade—

BANG!

A single shot rang out.

Dead Sea stumbled, falling to one knee, clutching his gut as blood seeped through his fingers.

BANG!

Dead Sea stumbled back, clutching his knee as blood gushed from the wound. He fell, howling in pain.

Six casually approached, slowly, the echo of his boots against the dirt making Dead Sea flinch. He holstered one pistol as he aimed the other at the Legion commander’s head.

"You guys never learn."

He mused.

Dead Sea spat blood, his glare full of hate.

"Caesar will avenge me."

"Caesar ain’t here."

Six said coolly, aiming his pistol at the Legion commander’s head.

"And neither are you."

Dead Sea spat blood, his glare defiant even in the face of death.

"Go on then... kill me. I die in service to Mars."

Six snorted.

"Mars? Yeah, well, allow me to send you ahead so that you may inform him personallyin the afterlife."

BANG!

Dead Sea’s head snapped back, his body going limp, and his corpse crumpled to the ground, lifeless

The camp was silent. The battle was over.

Six twirled his pistol before holstering it, stretching his neck with a satisfied sigh.

"Well... that was fun."

Boone finally made his way down from the ridge, giving a nod of approval.

"Hell of a show."

Six stretched, rolled his shoulders ,and grinned.

"Eh, would’ve been more fun if he actually put up a fight. Anyway, it ain’t over yet. Let’s loot what we can and burn the rest. Don’t want any of these Legion bastards coming back."

Six turned to the surviving NCR troopers.

"You boys good?"

One of the soldiers, still catching his breath, gave a shaky nod.

"We’re alive... thanks to you, sir."

As the sun began to rise over the Mojave, Dead Sea’s camp burned, the last remnants of his forces reduced to ashes.

Six and team rescued the NCR soldiers and slowly made their way back to the NCR blockade. The only evidence of the recent battle that’d just taken place was the small amounts of dirt covering them... That, and the fact that Six was still covered in blood.

Some NCR soldiers had been watching from afar but didn’t dare approach, they could distinctly hear a huge amount of firearms being discharged in the nearby fight in Nelson itself.

They backed away from Boone and Six with fearful expressions as they approached. The duo had just gone toe-to-toe with many Legionaries. The fact they’d also been able to save a large number of NCR hostages was also well-known...

"Looks like I was able to get a few of the hostages out alive."

Six said.

"Yeah."

Milo nodded in admiration, crossing his arms.

"I have to admit, I didn’t think you could do it. Guess that makes me the sap and you the hero."

He pulled out a hefty pouch, the distinctclinkof caps inside catching Six’s ear.

"I’m not authorized to pay for contract work, but here’s something for the effort. And I’ll make sure everyone hears about what you did. Thanks. I was only expecting to pay you for the original job, but for what you’ve done to Nelson, I think you deserve a little extra. There are 400 caps in here."

Six reached out to take it, but he raised an eyebrow as Milo, with a slight smirk, handed the pouch directly to Boone instead of him. He then glanced at the ex-First Recon sniper, who took it without hesitation, giving Six a look that practically screamed,"I ain’t sharing."

Six exhaled, shaking his head with a smirk.

"Damn. Alright. Guess we’re doin’ it like that, huh? I do all the work, and he gets the payout. Typical."

Boone said nothing—just pocketed the caps like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Then—

Ding!
