Chapter 73 - Power Transfer

As Six sat beside his unconscious wife, Rebecca, he suddenly staggered under the wave of overwhelming energy, the sudden burst of memories from his dispatched clone played like a fever dream in his mind. Images of gore-strewn hallways, hordes of undead, and a fierce battle in theHigh School of the Deadrealm flashed by in rapid succession.

But beyond the chaos, he felt something more profound—a connection to the life force of that world, the very essence of its energy had transferred into him and Rebecca. With every breath, his body vibrated with raw, untapped power.

It was more than just stats on a screen. Hefeltstronger, faster, more resilient. His battered muscles knit themselves together, broken bones fused back perfectly, and his mind cleared as if he'd been reborn. Every wound, every bruise, and even the aches from exhaustion were gone.

Six turned his gaze to Rebecca, watching her pale features regain warmth as the color returned to her cheeks. The puncture wound in her shoulder was gone, her skin smooth and unblemished where the bumper sword had impaled her.

She lay in peaceful slumber, her body restored but still fatigued from the ordeal, due to her pregnancy. For the first time in what felt like hours, Six let out a relieved breath.

The medics arrived, rushing in to assess Rebecca's condition. One scanned her vitals while another prepared fresh stimpaks, but they quickly realized her injuries had vanished.

"No wounds... no signs of trauma... This is impossible."

One medic whispered, baffled.

"She just needs rest."

Six muttered to himself, brushing her hair back gently.

"You've earned it."

Knowing Rebecca would not wake soon, Six stood, his senses sharper and more alert than ever. The rush of his heightened stats was still coursing through him, demanding action. He kissed her forehead softly and then activated the teleporter once again.

In a flash of blue light, Six materialized outside the REPCONN Test Site. The night air smelled of metal and dust, the remnants of their earlier battle still lingering in the air. His new Knightmare armor clanked as he adjusted it, though it felt lighter now—as if the increased Stats had made the suit an extension of his own body.

The memories of the Nightkin ambush seared in his mind. Boone's battered armor, Cassidy's lost arm, Rebecca's near-death—he wouldn't let them get away with it. Not this time. His fists clenched, veins pulsing with energy. He was ready.

ED-E hovered nearby, the faithful drone chirping as it detected Six's reappearance.

"Scan."

Six ordered.

ED-E's sensors swept the area, the light flashing rapidly.

"Nightkin... still present. 26 remain from the group. Armed with bumper swords. 9 carrying... a minigun."

"Perfect."

A grin curled Six's lips. This time, there would be no retreat.

Six kicked open the entrance to the building, the heavy steel door groaning under the force of his enhanced strength. The dull fluorescent lights flickered ominously, casting long shadows against the walls. Somewhere in the darkness below, the Nightkin were waiting—restless, bloodthirsty, and dangerous. The Factsphere sensors marked the threat instantly.

They'd expected a broken team crawling back in desperation. Instead, they got Six, stronger and deadlier than ever.

The first Nightkin came charging from a side room, bumper sword raised high. Six didn't flinch. His hand shot out like a bullet, catching the sword mid-swing. With a sickening crunch, he crushed the Nightkin's hand, the mutant howling in pain.

Before it could react, Six yanked the sword free, spun it in a perfect arc, and cleaved the Nightkin's head from its shoulders.

Two more mutants emerged from the darkness, one revving a minigun.

The Nightkin with a minigun roared defiantly, squeezing the trigger. The muzzle flared, unleashing a storm of bullets. But Six was already on the move. His enhanced reflexes and V.A.T.S.-like predictive ability with the landspinners allowed him to sidestep the deadly stream, bullets whizzed harmlessly past, and each movement was calculated and deliberate.

In a fluid motion, Six hurled the Slash Harkens again—metallic hooks tethered to high-tensile cables that latched onto the mutant's chest. With a sharp pull, he ripped the Nightkin off its feet and sent it careening toward him. Before the mutant even hit the ground, Six brought the bumper sword down in a savage arc, cleaving it in two.

"Twenty-four left," Six muttered, scanning the dim corridor.

The second mutant roared, swinging a steel pipe at Six's head. But His enhanced reflexes and V.A.T.S. allowed him to read the mutant's movements as if in slow motion. He sidestepped the blow and retaliated with a bone-shattering punch to its ribs, the force sending the Nightkin flying across the room.

"Another down. Twenty-three more to go."

With the landspinner's every swing, every dodge, and every strike, Six felt the overwhelming power flowing through him. He was a force of nature—unstoppable, relentless, and precise. His blows broke bones and tore through flesh, leaving the Nightkin disoriented and outmatched.

The Nightkin, once terrifying figures cloaked in stealth and madness, were now just prey to Six. With each swift movement, he outmaneuvered their brute force, as though their enhanced strength and size were trivial before his precision and firepower. The hum of the landspinners resonated beneath him as he dashed forward, closing gaps with terrifying speed.

Several Nightkin surged toward him from opposite directions, attempting to overwhelm him with brute force and numbers. One carried a jagged rebar club, another a makeshift axe fashioned from scrap. The mutants roared as they charged, determined to tear him apart.

Six didn't wait for them to close the distance. He activated V.A.T.S., time slowing to a crawl as he analyzed the best course of action. Targeting weak points with surgical precision, he selected his shots—one hook for the mutant's knee, another for its throat.

Ding-ding-ding!The system confirmed his choices, and as time resumed, the hooks flew. The rebar-wielding mutant staggered mid-charge, its knee shattered by the first hook. The second Nightkin barely had time to grunt before the hook buried itself in its throat, yanking it off balance and leaving it open for a follow-up strike.

Six launched forward with a powerful boost from the landspinners. His PERCEPTION-enhanced instincts guided his swing, the bumper sword colliding with bone and sinew in a brutal crescendo. The Nightkin collapsed, lifeless, just as another mutant lunged from the side.

This one was faster—too fast for a regular mutant. But Six's PERCEPTION boost allowed him to anticipate its movements. It swung a massive pipe wrench, but Six ducked and twisted beneath it with unnatural ease. In the same motion, he drove a hard elbow into the mutant's chest, feeling the bones give way under the impact.

Before the mutant could recover, Six's Knightmare armor arm shot forward, gripping its face and slamming it into the ground with thunderous force. The mutant twitched once, then lay still.

"Eighteen left,"

Six whispered, a grin creeping across his face.

The Factsphere sensors on ED-E pinged, sending him the data to his armor's HUB, confirming more enemies converging from the lower levels.

Minigun fire erupted from down the hall, accompanied by the heavy footfalls of more Nightkin reinforcements. Six dropped low, allowing the landspinners to engage again, propelling him at breakneck speed along the wall like a phantom. He closed the gap before the mutants could adjust their aim.

With a sharp twist, he hooked one of the minigun barrels with his sword and wrenched it upward. The gun sputtered uselessly, spraying bullets into the ceiling. The Nightkin's eyes widened in surprise, but before it could react, Six drove the blade deep into its torso.

The second minigun-wielding mutant roared and swung the heavy weapon like a club, but Six was already moving—dodging, striking, and dismantling his opponents with merciless precision.

The remaining Nightkin tried to retreat, but the mutants began to falter, their initial bloodlust giving way, realizing too late that they'd awoken something far more dangerous than they'd anticipated. Six's relentless assault, combined with the sheer speed of the landspinners and the surgical accuracy of his strikes, was unlike anything they had faced. For every mutant that attacked, two more fell.

And yet, Six was only getting started.

He pressed forward with ruthless intent, the miniguns, rebar clubs, and bumper swords of the mutants proving utterly ineffective against his unrelenting offense. The corridors of the building echoed with the sounds of cracking bones and the clatter of discarded weapons.

Six wasn't about to let them escape. He ripped the minigun from a dead mutant's hands, hefting the massive weapon like it was made of foam. The increased STRENGTH made it easy to handle, and he unleashed a storm of bullets down the corridor.

The mutants fell one after another, riddled with holes before they even hit the ground. The deafening gunfire echoed through the facility as he hunted the perpetrators who harmed his beloved chibi wife.

In a matter of minutes, it was over. Breathing heavily, Six stood in the midst of Twenty-six Nightkin lay broken, lifeless, and scattered across the blood-stained floor. The basement, once a den of Nightkin terror, was now silent save for the occasional drip of blood pooling on the concrete. He dropped the bent bumper sword and empty minigun to the floor with a metallicclang.

Six stood amidst the carnage, breathing steadily, his grin never fading. This was not just a fight—it was a message. A message to every enemy watching from the shadows. The Mojave belonged to him, and no force, mutant or otherwise, would touch what's his.

"Clear."

He muttered into his communicator.

"Hostiles... eliminated."

ED-E chirped, scanning the bodies.

"Area... secure."

Six wiped the blood from his bumper sword and sheathed it with a satisfied sigh.

"This place is ours now."

He muttered, looking down the corridor.

"Another piece to the board."

Six stared at the aftermath of his rampage, flexing his hands—hands that now held more power than ever before. Every ounce of his newly gained Stats had been put to use, and it had paid off.

With the Nightkin neutralized, Novac will soon be fortified, and the REPCONN site will be under control, Six's iron grip on the Mojave will be tightened even further. Rival factions—NCR, Legion, and House—would soon have no choice but to take notice.

And when they did, Six would be ready.

"Come on, ED-E."

He said, heading toward the exit.

"Let's see what's next."

Satisfied, he activated the teleporter once more, a blue shimmer enveloping him as he prepared to return to Goodsprings.
