Chapter 97: Luna Tijeras
Boom!
The blow sent Pilar reeling into the air, his body though regenerated once more before the damage would stick.
"Damn you!"
Before he could retaliate, Rebecca leaped into the air, kicking him higher. She used the wind pressure generated by his speed and her kicks to move through the air, hitting him back and forth. Not allowing him to touch the ground, just like a brutal game of aerial pinball.
Each strike cracked the air like thunder, her speed increasing with every hit. Pilar, despite his regeneration, couldnât keep upâevery time his body tried to heal, another devastating blow forced it to start over.
Rebeccaâs strikes were like a whirlwind, each hit more powerful than the last. Pilarâs body snapped backward with every blow, his own regeneration futile against the overwhelming speed and force of Rebeccaâs assault. Her glowing red eyes locked on him, burning with the determination to end this.
"You talk the big talk, bro, but all I see is a punching bag!"
She taunted, her voice full of spite, as her fists and legs connected with his body again and again, the sound of each impact like a thunderclap echoing across the battlefield.
Pilarâs body jerked with each hit, his wounds quickly knitting together, but the relentless barrage of attacks kept pushing him past his limit. He tried to fight back, but Rebeccaâs movements were too fast. She was everywhere at once, always one step ahead, never giving him the chance to retaliate.
"Youâre not even worth the effort!"
Rebecca snapped as she twisted mid-air, delivering another crushing blow with her knee to his chest. Pilarâs ribs cracked under the force, but before he could react, she spun around and launched him upward again with a powerful kick.
"Youâre too slow."
She taunted again, her voice laced with mocking amusement. Pilarâs body was battered, but his regeneration couldnât keep up with the rapid pace of the fight. His once towering presence was now reduced to a helpless punching bag in the air.
Each crack of thunderous strikes was like the clock ticking down to his inevitable defeat. Pilar, unable to heal in time, could only roar in frustration. His powers, once overwhelming, were no match for Rebeccaâs speed, her fury, and her ability to prevent him from ever standing his ground.
Rebecca narrowed her eyes as she noticed his body starting to flicker, the signs of his desperation becoming apparent. He was trying to gather his strength for something more, but she wasnât going to let him. Not now. Not when she was this close to finishing it.
"Ready to quit?"
She called out with a cold smirk, the air crackling with tension. Pilarâs desperate growl was the only response as he fought to regain his composure.
Pilar roared in frustration, trying to gather enough energy to retaliate, but Rebecca didnât give him the chance. She twisted in midair, her leg arcing in a blinding crescentâ
"Luna Crescent!"
A shockwave burst forth as her kick slammed into Pilarâs torso, sending him rocketing toward the ground like a meteor. The impact sent a tremor through the battlefield, a crater forming where he landed.
Six, still fending off the Greater Daemons, took a moment to glance toward the scene.
"Damn, remind me to never get on her bad side..."
The daemons, momentarily distracted by Pilarâs fall, hesitatedâjust long enough for Six to take advantage. He aimed his Varis rifle, adjusting its settings.
"Overcharged shot, letâs see how you like this!"
The rifle hummed as he fired a searing blast of energy, tearing through the head of one of the Greater Daemons, leaving nothing but a charred stump.
Rebecca landed at the edge of the crater, rolling her shoulders.
"Are you done yet, bro? Or do I have to keep kicking your ass all night?"
Pilar coughed, staggering to his feet, his body flickering with unstable energy.
"You...Hops. You think this is over?"
His eyes burned with something darker now, his voice layered with something unnatural.
Sixâs grip tightened on his weapon.
"Oh, great. Here comes the part where the villain stops playing fair and pulls out their BS power."
Pilar threw his head back, laughing. The sky darkened, the air crackling with malice.
"Letâs see how you handle a real nightmare, little sis."
The ground around him split open, and from the abyss, a new power surged forth. Pilars second phase had begun.
Due to her enhanced senses of a rabbit. Her survival instincts instantly knew that the world would be in danger if Pilar was allowed to awaken to his second phase. Just by looking at him.
Without notice, Rebecca mounted Pilar and gripped his head tightly with her legs.
"Luna Tijeras"
The world seemed to hold its breath for a split second. The crack of bone and the sickening tear of flesh echoed across the battlefield as RebeccaâsLuna Tijerasexecuted its purpose.
With all of her might, she leaned backward and applied pressure with her superhumanly strong legs. Pilarâs eyes widened in shock as his head twisted further than it should, his regenerating body unable to counteract the raw force of her grip. His mouth opened as if to scream, but before a sound could leave his throatâ
SNAP!
His head detached, launching into the air in a spiraling blur of blood and gore, before landing unceremoniously in the dirt with a heavy thud. His body convulsed, still twitching, still trying to healâuntil it realized it no longer had a brain to command it.
For a moment, silence.
ThenâBOOM!
Pilarâs headless corpse erupted into a violent explosion of black and crimson gore, the backlash sending Rebecca flipping through the air. She landed gracefully on her feet, skidding back with a smirk.
Six, having just taken out another daemon, blinked in disbelief.
"...Damn. That was metal as hell."
Rebecca cracked her knuckles, ears twitching as she exhaled.
"Yeah, well, I wasnât about to let him get his OP villain power-up. We both know how that crap goes."
Six chuckled, slinging his rifle over his shoulder.
"Ainât that the truth."
But thenâthe ground trembled once more.
Rebeccaâs smirk faded as she turned toward the remains of Pilar. A deep, guttural laugh, distant yet omnipresent, slithered through the battlefield.
The darkness that had gathered did not disperse.
Instead, it coiled.
Pilarâs severed head twitched. His eyes, once burning with fury, now gleamed with something even worse.
Rebeccaâs survival instincts flared a bit late as Pilarâs severed head launched in the air, biting her hand off.
"Did you really think itâd be that easy, little sister?"
He spoke, still chewing her hand into paste.
"Beast Form!"
The transformation was horrifying to witness. Pilarâs severed head and the remains of his body contorted and reshaped as the dark energy around him fused, stretching his limbs into grotesque proportions.
His form grew larger, more monstrous, taking on a lizard-like appearance with jagged scales covering his new form. His head, once humanoid, was now twisted into a maw full of serrated teeth, and his eyes glowed with an unearthly, malevolent light. He looked like a creature ripped from the depths of nightmaresâa living, breathingSCP 682 the "Hard-to-Destroy Reptile".
