"Oh, yes." Although she had only been to the company once, the observant secretary recognized her and knew she was Asher Land’s acquaintance.

"Would you mind waiting in the office for a bit? President Land is in a meeting right now and should be done in about ten minutes."

"Thank you."

Sophie Smith walked to the office and only then remembered she just needed to return the phone to Asher Land. She could have just handed it over to the secretary, why waste time waiting for him? She felt foolish.

She was about to head out of the office when a tall figure suddenly barged in.

"Wow, what a beauty!" Luke Land clicked his tongue in admiration, "There are really a lot of beauties at Golden Era, it seems that Asher really has a knack for choosing."

"I’m not an employee of Golden Era." Sophie sensed the person wasn’t friendly, and was about to leave, but Luke Land blocked her way.

"No worries if you’re not from Golden Era, keep me company and I’ll pay you well."

"Come on, I think you look pretty lovely..." Luke Land pulled Sophie into his arms, his hands starting to misbehave.

Luke Land, being flirtatious by nature and holding power and influence, always felt the urge to possess women he found attractive.

"Luke Land!" Luke Land turned around, but before he could see clearly, he was knocked to the ground.

Asher Land delivered a heavy punch, leaving Luke Land defenseless.

Luke Land got up from the ground, covering his bruised cheek with his hand, full of anger, "Are you crazy?"

"I think it’s you who’s crazy, daring to touch my woman?" Asher Land stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and threw another punch.

Luke Land spat out the blood in his mouth and stood up, smirking coldly, "What woman? I want to see for myself."

He got up, circled around Asher Land, and approached Sophie who was hiding in the corner.

"Tell me, which prestigious family are you from? What does your father do?"

Sophie lowered her head, saying nothing. She didn’t know who this man was, only heard Asher call him Luke Land. Since they both had the last name "Land" and he dared to act recklessly in Asher’s office, there must be some closeness between them.

"I’m not from any prestigious family, my father is just a worker."

"Oh? Then how do you qualify to be my third brother’s woman?"

With Luke Land’s identity now clear, Sophie felt like an outsider.

"I think you’re mistaken. President Land has many women, I’m just one of them. Once he’s tired of me, he’ll send me away, so I don’t need to be a prestigious lady. It’s just for fun, no need to take it seriously."

Asher Land’s body trembled. Why did it feel like a knife was cutting into his heart when she uttered those words so calmly?
