This was what Wyatt Sterling said on the award ceremony’s red carpet. She didn’t expect the media to be so fast, already having it online.

"It’s just for promotional purposes." Sophie didn’t know if her answer would satisfy Asher Land.

"He knows you’re my woman, and he still dares to compete with me?"

"He was just talking casually, you don’t need to take it to heart." Sophie coaxed Asher like soothing a child.

Her tone had softened a lot, as she kept explaining to him. He didn’t speak anymore, just started the car.

Sophie breathed a sigh of relief from the bottom of her heart.

Asher Land didn’t take her back to her rented place but brought her back to their previous apartment.

Sophie stood at the door, a bit at a loss. Walking through this door meant everything would return to square one.
