Chapter 12 - 12: Rare SmileLooking at the man, Maya Spencer immediately had a bad premonition in her heart. She felt she was about to be sold off by Hannah. How could this woman invite her to dinner out of kindness? And to nourish her body? She's probably hoping for her early death to avoid competing with Elia Spencer for inheritance.

Though she had never thought of competing for inheritance, the mother and daughter before her believed otherwise.

"President Bailey, these are my two daughters, Elia Spencer, Maya Spencer. Please look after them."

Listening to Hannah's introduction, the man quickly sized up Elia Spencer and Maya Spencer. When his gaze fell on Maya, he couldn't help but swallow and said, "Madam Spencer, your daughter is truly beautiful."

"Isn't she!" Hannah, seeing the man swallow while looking at Maya, felt both angry and pleased.

Angry because Elia didn't look as good as Maya; pleased because President Bailey seemed interested in Maya, suggesting her plan was on the right track.

If she could marry off Maya, this little vixen, to the man, he would surely be delighted. This would kill two birds with one stone – forge ties with this man to elevate her status in the Spencer Family and eliminate this vixen for Elia.

The man stared at Maya, quickly sat down beside her, turned his head, and looked at her without moving, asking with concern, "What would Miss Spencer like to eat?"

"Tch!" Elia, seeing the man's flattering behavior towards Maya, let out a cold tch to show her dissatisfaction, standing alongside Maya before the man. She had always remained invisible.

"Aunt Hannah, I'm not hungry. I'll go back to my dorm first."

Maya was clear about the intentions of the mother and daughter opposite her. She did not want to be cannon fodder, to be used by them, nor did she want any entanglements with the man beside her.

"Maya, how could you be so impolite! You haven't even eaten yet. Eat before you go, and if you don't respect Aunt Hannah, don't blame her for not showing you respect either."

Listening to Hannah's threat, Maya took a deep breath and scooted a bit further in, showing her disdain.

She knew that if she angered Hannah, this woman would have a hundred ways to kick her out of the Spencer Family and school. Now, she also had another ally who hated her – Liam Spencer. If they reached a consensus, she would end up as nothing.

So, she remained.

"Third Young Master!" As Maya compromised, ready to eat, the man looked at Liam passing outside the elegant seats and suddenly stood up, walked into the aisle, and shouted "Third Young Master" once.

This shout made everyone in the elegant seating instinctively look towards Liam and Elijah Reed behind him.

Maya glanced at Liam and quickly withdrew her gaze, pretending not to see him, unlike the bootlickers Hannah and Elia.

However, Liam's gaze fell on Maya. He glanced at Hannah and the bespectacled man before him, basically guessing Hannah's tricks.

Then his eyes met Maya again, thinking that this woman was brainless. How dare she come to dinner when Hannah invited her? Didn't she fear Hannah would eat her up, bones and all?

"Third Young Master, how fortunate! Hello, I am Eli Jarvis from Bailey Clan Company, pleased to meet you." The man, thinking Hannah's presence would garner some respect from Liam, extended his hand, only to be ignored as Liam's eyes were solely on Maya.

Seeing the scene turn awkward, Hannah quickly smiled apologetically and said, "Liam! What a coincidence, didn't expect you'd have dinner here tonight. I heard Maya was ill, so I brought her out for a good meal."

Then she turned to Maya and said, "Maya, come out and greet your third brother and President Bailey."

Maya, following Hannah's orders lazily stood up from the sofa, walked into the aisle, looked at Liam, and said, "Third Young Master, good evening!" Then she turned her head towards the man and said, "Misc President, good evening."

"Pft!" Elijah Reed burst out laughing at Maya's calling him Misc President, completely disregarding his image, even Liam's lips revealed a trace of a stolen smile, thinking Maya was brazen indeed, openly humiliating Hannah, likely having forgotten the pain from last time's whipping.

Hearing Maya call him Misc President, the man's face turned white. He awkwardly smiled and said, "Miss Spencer, my surname is Bailey."

"Oh~~~" Maya responded nonchalantly but didn't correct her greeting.

In her eyes, since the man agreed to Hannah's invitation, he must know what Hannah was thinking. She was merely a girl just under nineteen and a freshman. This grown man was still looking to date her; what else was he but Misc President?
