Chapter 68 - 66 What to Do Next "I'm already eating, you don't need to invite me to dinner." Maya Spencer quickly refused when she heard she was asked to go to the restaurant.

"No one's inviting you to dinner, just come over."

"I'm eating."

"10 minutes." The man finished speaking and hung up. Maya looked at the already disconnected call, gritting her teeth in anger.

She thought, calling her to the restaurant without inviting her to eat, just to watch him eat? Reluctantly, Maya still grabbed her phone, bid farewell to the Turner siblings, and hurried towards the restaurant.

When she appeared in front of Liam Spencer, it was exactly 10 minutes, no more, no less. Seeing the man sitting alone at the dining table, she took a deep breath and looked down at him.

"Third Master, do you have something for me?"

Liam raised his head and glanced at the girl, his heartbeat speeding up inexplicably. He hadn't seen her in half a month, yet never stopped thinking about her, even though she was always the figure he detested.

However, when he encountered a difficult problem, the first person he wanted to see was still her.

Despite wanting to scold him for being brainless, she obediently took out all her belongings from her pocket, placed them in front of him, and said, "I have 68 yuan, all my possessions."

Liam paused, seeing the pile of small change she produced, including one-yuan and fifty-cent coins. He lifted his head, his sharp eyes fixing on her.

Maya, noticing his gaze, said nonchalantly, "Do you have a bank card linked to your phone? If you do, you can pay via mobile."

"No!" Liam replied coldly.

"It's not that I won't help you pay; I really don't have money, nor do I have a card." Maya feared he'd blame her on impulse and quickly explained. She didn't want to provoke him until she found proof of her innocence.

Then she suggested, "How about this! You leave first! I'll stay here as collateral, and you call Elijah Reed to pay. Once he comes, I'll leave."

Currently, this was the best solution — letting him escape first without provoking him, since he is the Third Master. She couldn't pay for the meal, but using herself as collateral should be sufficient!

"..." Liam was momentarily speechless listening to her suggestion. Was he moved? Or... moved indeed?

Watching her put away the small changes on the table and carefully stash them in her pocket, he felt an impulse not to leave, wanting to watch her a bit more, also wondering if she didn't feel awkward waiting here. Anyway, he felt terribly awkward.

Then, he saw Maya nonchalantly sitting across from him, supporting her chin with her left hand, turning to look at the customers coming and going outside the elegant seat, not even sparing him a glance.

The man knew she hated him. Her willingness to come to the restaurant and wait for Elijah Reed was all because she couldn't beat him, fearing he'd prevent her from returning to the Spencer Family.

Watching Maya endure and compromise to accommodate him, he took a deep breath, feeling a mixture of emotions, extremely uneasy.

After watching her for a while, she suddenly turned her head to ask, "If you're embarrassed to call Elijah Reed, I'll make the call!"

As she spoke, Maya raised her phone, ready to dial Elijah Reed, only to have Liam change the topic.

He said, "You rushed over without finishing lunch, right? Order what you want to eat."

After meeting again half a month later, neither of them was sharp; no one initiated harsh words first; instead, they were courteous to each other, very polite, reminiscent of couples breaking up peacefully.

Seeing the words "Assistant Reed" on the screen, he casually answered like it was his own call, "Maya dialed the wrong number!" After speaking, he hung up and tossed the phone back to Maya.

Maya looked at his behavior, bewildered, grabbed the phone, and impatiently explained, "I'm not lying to you; I really don't have money, unless you're going to sell me to the restaurant?"

"You're not valuable enough, nor cheap enough for that."

Liam's words were still unpleasant. Maya couldn't be bothered to be angry, turned aside, straightened up, crossed her arms, finally looked at him directly, asking, "What now then?"

Liam, seeing her eyes and hearing her ask him what now, suddenly felt comfortable.

He stared at her for a while before saying, "I remember my card number."

Hearing his words, Maya felt like smashing him with the phone. Unfortunately, given their current relationship, a tantrum and pouting were inappropriate; competition was suitable, while she played the weaker role.

Feeling resentment, she pretended calmly to ask, "Can you link it?"

Liam, listening to her question, took his phone from his pocket and tossed it in front of her, signaling her to handle it.

He could operate those apps with his eyes closed, but hearing her ask if he could, he felt like feigning ignorance, wanting her to do it for him.

Maya glanced at the phone he tossed, looked at him briefly, picked up his phone, unlocked his screen, opened WeChat, and began linking the card.

When she needed the card number and password, she'd ask him, and he'd answer truthfully.

Therefore, Maya soon took his phone, scanned WeChat, paid the bill, and led him out of the restaurant.

On the street, Maya crossed her arms and walked ahead indifferently, as if the person behind her, her Third Brother, didn't exist.

Actually, Liam intentionally walked behind, his long legs making one step for every three of hers, but today, he was in a good mood, willing to follow behind her.

At the intersection, they stood side by side, about half a meter apart, intentionally distanced by Maya. In her subconscious, staying farther away from this man equated to more safety.
