Chapter 28: Chapter 26: Bringing Humiliation Upon OneselfHannah, who walked out from the end of the hallway, looked at the scene in front of her, her eyes almost popping out, continually exclaiming in surprise: "Oh my gosh! This family is in chaos! Maya Spencer, that little thing, is actually hitting Liam Spencer."
Just as Hannah finished speaking, she saw Liam grabbing Maya by the neck and forcefully dragging her into his room.
Seeing Liam in a towering rage, Hannah realized that she should be happy; Maya picked the wrong person to mess with. Sheâs going to pay for it now, best if she gets beaten to death, so she wouldnât make trouble again in the future.
Inside Liamâs room, he held Maya by the neck and slammed her against the wall, lowering his voice, gritting his teeth as he said, "Tired of living, huh? Fine! Iâll grant you your wish."
Maya, who had only been focused on venting her anger, had forgotten that Liam was not just any Spencer, but also the crown prince of the Owen Family and the CEO of the Owen Clan Group. In S City, no one dared to challenge him, not even old Michael Spencer.
But in a fit of rage, she hit him. This was probably the first time someone had dared to hit Liam!
Struggling to breathe, Maya, her face beet-red, tightly grasped Liamâs strong arms, her feet kicking wildly in the air; she didnât want to die, not one bit.
But the suffocating feeling made her think she was doomed.
She wanted to cry for help, wanted to run, but could do nothing, not even keep a firm grip on his arm. This time, she was really finished.
Thinking she would die at Liamâs hands without knowing why, thinking she hadnât yet discovered her motherâs cause of death, Maya felt wronged, tears involuntarily rolling down her cheeks.
The man squeezing Maya looked at her tearful eyes, feeling her hot tears rolling onto his hand, and unconsciously reduced his grip.
He wasnât in the habit of hitting women, but Mayaâs slap had been too sudden, too unexpected, provoking him to the point of aggression, grabbing her neck.
If he could, he really would have strangled this woman, for daring to slap him in the morning without rhyme or reason. He asked himself, he hadnât done anything to wrong this girl, saving her from dangers time and again, and yet she dared to hit him, ungrateful thing.
Then, he gently pinched her neck and tossed her aside. Maya just sat on the floor, coughing incessantly.
While coughing, she sarcastically said, "Didnât you say youâd grant my wish? Why didnât you strangle me to death?"
Listening to Maya, Liam slowly squatted in front of her, pinched her chin, and said,
"Even touching you dirties my hands, how could I willingly take your life?"
"So thatâs why that night you didnât let Elijah give me the antidote, instead found someone else." Maya regretted her words as soon as they left her mouth. Wasnât this just seeking humiliation? She mustâve been muddled from him choking her, asking such a stupid question.
Only then did Liam understand why this woman had slapped him in anger earlier.
So, he looked into her eyes and sneered, "Do you think youâre worthy of sleeping with Elijah?"
"You all conspired, you and Hannah colluded, Liam, I never thought youâd be so shameless, dare to act but not take responsibility, one face to the world, another behind closed doors, play the... hero, and still want me to thank you."
At that moment, Maya felt they had conspired, conspired against her, Liam finding someone to give her an antidote, how was it any different from being drugged and slept with that wretched guy? Wasnât it all the same?
"Yeah! I think Hannah marrying you off to that wretched guy was too cheap for you, so I took you away and even found you two homeless guys. How was it, wasnât it thrilling? Didnât you always say you had AIDS? You might really have it now."
Liam lied with a straight face, as if he had actually done those things.
Only now, he really regretted it, regretted helping her with the antidote that night, only to be bitten back.
At this moment, he picked the nastiest things to say.
"Bastard!" Completely believing Liamâs lies, Maya cried in anger, wishing she could kill the man in front of her, lifting her small hands, slapping, hitting him chaotically.
Liam watched as Maya went mad, grabbing her hands, flipping her onto the floor in one swift move, angrily saying, "Maya, Iâm warning you, if you dare cause trouble again, donât blame me for being rude."
"Bastard, none of the Spencers are good people." Thinking about being slept by those two homeless guys, Maya wished she were dead, disregarding her usual aloof image, crying a mess in front of him.
"BOSS, BOSS, Iâm sorry, itâs my fault for telling Miss Five wrong!" Outside the door, Elijah was frantically banging on the door, afraid that something terrible would happen inside.
"Hey! Little Reed, why provoke anyone if not that disaster star? Do you know, when she came back just now, like a madwoman, she opened Liamâs door and slapped him. Liam is probably seething with rage now, youâd better stay away, donât make things worse."
Seeing Elijah arrive, Hannah hurriedly stepped forward, intending to dissuade himâshe couldnât give anyone a chance to rescue Maya.
"BOSS, this has nothing to do with Miss Five, itâs all my fault." Listening to Hannah, Elijah grew more anxious.
"Hey! Little Reed, why donât you listen, didnât I tell you not to meddle in troublesome matters? Youâll lose your job." Hannah said, starting to pull Elijah, but Elijah flung her aside with a backhand.
At this moment, Elijah thought of Jane Spencer, the only one who could save Maya now.
So, he hurried to Janeâs door and knocked: "Miss, Miss, Miss!"
"Jane went out early this morning! Not at home!" Hannah said with glee.
By now, Elijah was about to lose it, wishing he could break into Liamâs room but fearing it would anger Liam further.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Liam pinned Mayaâs hands, pressing her under him, taunting: "You hate the Spencers so much, but sadly, Spencer blood still runs in your veins, Maya, youâre destined to never live happily."
Looking at Liamâs arrogant demeanor, Maya suddenly bit his neck; since he said she might have AIDS, she wouldnât let him go even in death and would infect him too.
The moment she bit him, Liam almost cried out in pain, thinking, is this woman a dog? Why does she bite at the drop of a hat?
He threatened her, "Maya, if you want to leave this room alive, release your bite."
Maya paid no heed to his threat, instead biting harder, seeing this, Liam sneered, "Are you seducing me again? Even as a ghost, you want to be a romantic one, huh? Fine! I can grant you your final wish."
