Chapter 27: Chapter 25 Don’t MindThis time, Liam Spencer couldn’t stay calm.

He hadn’t had the chance to push her away,

when Maya Spencer, who was leaning on him, blushed so hard her cheeks could drip blood.

She quickly sat on his lap, reaching for the backpack on his chest.

"I didn’t mean it."

"You didn’t mean it." Hearing Liam’s sarcasm, the flush faded from Maya’s face, leaving only anger.

She spoke and then reached out to push Liam, the man felt her resistance, tightly gripping her wrists, pinning her small hands harshly onto the floor, causing Maya to frown in pain.

At this moment, however, there was no mockery or anger on his face, but his eyes were so fierce it was terrifying, as if he wanted to devour her.

He looked into her eyes, quickly raising her pinned hands and slammed them down again, angrily asking, "Tell me, did Grandpa send you here, what are your schemes?"

Liam had always suspected that the old fox, Grandpa, knew about their backgrounds, so he was targeting him everywhere, using her as bait to lure him in.

Maya, confused by Liam’s strange question, stared at his eyes and said, "I don’t understand what you’re saying, apart from wanting to find the real killer of my mother, I have no other schemes."

"Maya, do you think I’ll believe you? Since I came back to the Spencer Family, you’ve been constantly causing trouble and getting involved with me, it seems I underestimated you, sister..."

"Since you’re so suspicious, then why still give Grandpa face, why don’t you just stop helping me with my homework? Didn’t you say that if you wanted to leave, no one could stop you? Then go! Anyway, I won’t stop you."

"The more you want to catch, the more you pretend to release! I do want to see what tricks you all can play." Liam said as he got up from the floor.

Maya immediately got up from the floor as well, held onto her backpack, and walked towards the door.

Hearing the girl’s hurried footsteps, Liam coldly reminded, "Maya, don’t be too arrogant, or you won’t even know whose hands you’ll die at."

Maya didn’t respond to Liam’s warning; she didn’t even stop her footsteps and left in a hurry.

She always knew that staying with Liam wouldn’t result in anything good, but she didn’t expect that he could complicate things so much; the most frustrating thing was that it was only the first night of tutoring, and she had already kissed his mouth, even kissed that place of his.

Thinking about it, Maya’s face became even more unsightly, she realized she must find a way to get out of Liam’s tutoring, or else she truly wouldn’t know in whose hands she’d fall.

The next morning, Maya had not yet woken up from her dreams when she was startled by her phone, muddled, she fumbled for it under her pillow, saw it was an unknown caller, and hung up at once. The call came again, so she simply turned off the phone.

Just moments later, there was a knock on her room door, the maid called from outside, "Miss Maya, you need to get up for your tutoring."

Hearing the word "tutoring," an infinity of irritation and disdain appeared on Maya’s sleepy little face, but she got up nonetheless; Liam was already up, what excuse could she find to stay in bed?

When she finished getting ready and went to the living room, she only saw Elijah Reed sitting on the sofa.

Seeing Elijah, Maya immediately remembered the night she was drugged by Aunt Hannah, so without a trace, she turned around and headed back to her room.

She was hiding from Elijah!

She felt deeply sorry and unable to take any responsibility for what had happened with him.

"Miss Maya, are you unwell?" The maid, seeing confusion on the face of the icy young lady for the first time, asked if she was feeling unwell.

With the maid’s question, Elijah immediately turned his head and called out to Maya, "Miss Five, the Boss instructed me to supervise your morning runs, your physical training must be perfect."

Hearing the words "physical training," Maya glanced at Elijah and ran directly to the second floor, knocking on Liam’s door, saying, "I’m not going for a run outside, I’ll run on the treadmill in your room."

"Do you think I enjoy seeing you?"

Maya knew that Liam had intentionally sent Elijah to disgust her, knowing full well the special relationship between the two, knowing full well she had been with Elijah, yet making him supervise her run was clearly revenge.

But she had no choice but to comply, to be alone with Elijah, mongering disgust within herself.

In Forest Park, Maya ran so hard she was out of breath, not daring to slow down, fearing Elijah would speak, fearing he would bring up that night.

"Miss Five, rest for a while!"

"I’m not tired!" Maya replied, holding back her breath.

Immediately, her wrist was pulled by him, and he said, "Miss Five, are you avoiding me? Can you tell me why?"

Maya, grabbed by Elijah, finally stopped, taking big breaths. Once her breathing calmed, she explained to Elijah.

"That night, I was drugged by Aunt Hannah and accidentally did that to you, don’t mind it too much."

"Pfft! Miss Five, what are you talking about? That night, you didn’t do anything to me; it was the Boss who stayed with you in the room, perhaps he called someone else for you!"

"What?" Maya was stunned.

"I said you didn’t do anything to me; there’s no need to avoid me."

"Hmm, got it." Maya said, quickly turned around, and ran back.
