Chapter 57: Chapter 55: Spoil a Little MoreHelpless, she pulled up her mask, covering her little face, not letting him see her.
Hadnât he told her? To not appear in front of him, so she just covered her face.
Besides, the mask was meant to protect her from him, to avoid meeting him at school, she just forgot to bring her sunglasses, leaving her eyes uncovered. SŃará´h the NovŃlĆire.n(e)t website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
The girlâs actions were all taken in by Liam Spencer.
In groups of two or three, step by step, as Liam approached the two girls, he was indifferent, as if he didnât see them at all.
"Hello, Principal!" Ella Turner greeted politely, while Maya Spencer stood behind her, head lowered, seemingly not looking at him at all.
"Mm!" Liam lightly responded and passed by them without any pause.
Even though he was in a foul mood, wanting to rip off Mayaâs mask and ask her what she was pretending for, this was school and he didnât act.
Thinking about the girl behind him, ignoring him throughout, with her mask covering her face, head down, Liam felt she was just putting on an act.
Not far away, Ella Turner pulled Maya aside and said, "Maya, your third brother left, what happened between you two?"
"Schoolâs almost over! I need to go home!" Maya quickly changed the subject.
Since she couldnât avoid him at school, returning home and staying in her little haven shouldnât result in running into him again, right?
That night, just like the night before, Maya didnât come out to eat; Jane Spencer was home today. Hearing that Maya hadnât come out for several meals, she personally went to knock on Mayaâs door.
Inside, Maya, unaware that it was her eldest sister, weakly said, "Iâm not hungry, donât want to eat."
"Maya, itâs your eldest sister, open the door."
Upon hearing her eldest sisterâs voice, Maya quickly got up to open the door, awkwardly standing at the entrance. Her peripheral vision snuck a glance at the dining room and saw Liam at the table, quickly retracting her gaze and smiling.
"Sister Jane Spencer, Iâm not hungry, if I get hungry, Iâll go find something to eat myself."
"How can that be! Maya, I know youâve been in a bad mood these past few days, but donât take it out on your body! If your mom saw, she would be so worried." Jane said while pulling Maya out, seating her next to Liam at the table.
Across from them, Aunt Hannah and her daughter watched the siblings, thrilled, hoping for an immediate confrontation.
Under the same roof, no matter how much Maya tried to avoid it, she couldnât escape meeting him.
After sitting down, she subconsciously moved her chair to distance herself from Liam, as even breathing the same air as him made her feel nauseous.
Jane glanced at the two and immediately put on a welcoming smile, instructing the servant to pass Mayaâs bowl and personally served her soup, comforting her.
"Maya, the past is past, thereâs no need to keep dwelling on it. The future is what matters most. I believe you can adjust and live well." After speaking, she turned to Aunt Parker and instructed, "Aunt Parker, bring Mayaâs soup to her."
"Mm!" Maya replied perfunctorily, having not told anyone about the grievances she suffered that night.
Watching Liamâs indifferent attitude, she felt angry but found herself helpless, having no choice but to bow her head and drink the soup.
Beside her, Liam focused on his meal, ignoring everyone at the table, yet could hear the breathing of the girl next to him clearly.
He could sense she didnât want to sit next to him, didnât want to eat at the same table, from her breathing it was clear she disliked and even hated him.
However, the worse her mood, the more satisfied he felt.
Then, everyone heard Jane say, "Maya, howâs your studying going lately, catching up? Can you promise not to fail the exams?"
"I probably wonât fail." Maya replied, holding the soup bowl with both hands, blowing softly at it, her eyes fixed on the bowl.
She dared not look up at Sister Jane above her, fearing inadvertently meeting eyes with Liam.
"It seems Liam is quite good. With the exam a month away, you need to make use of your time. After dinner, have Liam tutor you for another two hours. Our goal is not just to pass the exams, you know!"
"No need. I can study by myself now, no need to trouble the third young master."
Hearing she had to go to Liamâs room for tutoring, Maya immediately put down the soup bowl, lifted her head, and looked towards Jane with steady eyes, addressing him as âthird young masterâ instead of the familiar âthird brotherâ as before.
Jane heard her address Liam that way, and even if she was clueless, she could tell the two were having a disagreement.
Thus, she sighed heavily, looking at Maya, earnestly saying, "Maya, you canât be willful, canât disappoint grandfather, it wonât benefit your future."
She then looked towards Liam, "Liam, Maya is a girl, when tutoring her, be gentle, donât be harsh on her, sheâs the youngest at home and also your sister, so spoil her a bit more."
Janeâs attempt to mediate left both parties awkward and speechless, neither accepting nor refusing, leaving them both silent, heads down.
Aunt Hannah jumped in, pretending to mediate, "Yes! Liam, Maya is young, her mother isnât here, her moodâs been bad these days, do take on the burden a bit more."
Her words seemed to be helping Maya, but she was actually stirring conflict. Since Jane wanted everyone to pamper the little demon, she went along with it, making everyone endure and act according to her whims. She wondered if Janeâs biological brother could withstand her cold demeanor.
Elia Spencer, noticing Aunt Hannahâs mediation, discretely kicked her under the table, blaming her for speaking in Mayaâs favor.
Aunt Hannah disregarded Elia, standing up with a smile, serving Maya some food and saying, "Here, Maya, have some ribs. Aunt Hannah knows you love this dish. Eat more, and if you want anything else, let Aunt Hannah know, and Iâll have the kitchen make it for you."
Elia watched Aunt Hannahâs actions, seemingly understanding some of the deviousness, and quickly served her more food, saying as she did.
"Maya, if you donât understand something at school, just ask me! Weâre all family."
Maya watched their dishonest act, unsure whether to laugh or cry, thinking to herself that the Spencer Family was truly a perfect stage.
When dinner ended, Jane specifically reminded her, "Maya, take a break, then go to your third brotherâs room for tutoring, and remember to please grandpa!"
Janeâs mention of pleasing grandpa was clear to everyone; it was obviously about gaining more inheritance.
Elia, seeing Janeâs concern for the little demon, turned white with anger, yet didnât dare speak against her eldest sister.
In her bedroom, Maya was conflicted. She really didnât want to go upstairs, but given Janeâs repeated insistence, she didnât know how to resist, especially when Aunt Parkerâs urging came from outside the door, "Miss Maya, itâs time for your tutoring."
