Chapter 96: Chapter 94: Borrowing Flowers to Offer to Buddha Christopher Scott hadn’t regained his composure when he saw Liam Spencer immediately turn around, pinch the girl’s chin, making her open her mouth wide, and check if she was stuck with a fishbone.

Being cared for like this in public made Maya feel embarrassed. She raised her hand, grabbed his wrist, and mumbled, "Third Brother, I’m fine, I just choked a bit, nothing’s stuck."

Liam Spencer only released her after confirming that the girl was indeed not stuck, letting her continue eating.

"The Third Young Master truly cares for his sister. Whoever marries him is truly blessed over several lifetimes."

"Exactly! Handsome and running the company well, being the Third Young Master’s sister is already a blessing."

Everyone chimed in, praising Liam Spencer. Maya, however, looked down on all of it, feeling utterly disgusted, thinking to herself, whoever wants to be this sister can go ahead! Have they ever seen a brother sleeping with his sister? Does anyone know the hardships she endured in the shadows? Each one-sided compliment, to flatter and please him—aren’t they disgusted by themselves?

Right now, even with several guts borrowed, Maya still dared not voice these thoughts, so she continued eating with her head down.

Next to them, Christopher Scott watched their close relationship with bewilderment, not grasping why Liam Spencer was such a sister-surrounding person, feeling something was amiss but couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.

All in all, seeing Liam Spencer dote on this Sister Maya, it would likely be difficult for Henry Reid to pursue her!

After lunch, Liam Spencer drove Maya Spencer back to Owen Clan Group. He originally wanted her to stay and continue keeping him company, but due to a crucial meeting in the afternoon, he let her go. In the underground parking, he kissed her fiercely before letting her leave.

However, the matter of Liam Spencer taking Maya Spencer to the lunch spread across the entire country before she even finished work; everyone in the Spencer Family knew about it.

In Elia Spencer’s bedroom, she lay on the bed, motionless, grinding her teeth in anger, never having expected that the scandal last time didn’t drag Maya down but instead gave her a chance to turn things around. Thinking about how Third Brother took her to the lunch made Elia Spencer so angry she almost exploded, even considering whether she should also throw herself at Third Brother.

That night, Elia Spencer saw something in her bedroom, solidifying her belief that there was definitely something unclear between them; why else would Liam Spencer help that little wench?

Suddenly, the door swung open, and Hannah sat beside the sulking Elia, patting her back and saying, "Ellie, don’t overthink, that little demon Maya can’t be happy for many more days; Grandpa’s merely using her."

Listening to Hannah’s reassurance, Elia Spencer turned around, looked at her, and impatiently said, "The key is she still has value."

"Ellie, don’t worry, the Spencer Family belongs to you, no one can take it away."

"Mom, stop deluding yourself, even Maya’s mother is going to be buried in the cemetery as the Second Lady. How could Grandpa not favor her! And both Third Brother and Second Brother are bewitched. But I can’t control that much, as long as she doesn’t snatch Henry Reid, I don’t care whose Spencer Family it is."

"Ellie, come down to eat, Mom promises you, she absolutely won’t snatch Henry Reid."

"Mhm mhm!" Elia Spencer climbed down from the bed at Hannah’s assurance and went down to eat with her.

When the two reached the dining room, everyone was already present. Jane Spencer was chatting and laughing with Maya Spencer. After Hannah and Elia sat down, Jane Spencer held the little demon’s hand and said.

"Maya, there’s a project here. If you’re not busy, can you take some time to help out your sister?"

"Is it related to Owen Clan?" Maya cautiously asked.

"Mm! A little bit, aren’t you currently dealing with Owen Clan? Also, keep an eye on this project for big sister, would you?" Jane Spencer said while picking food for her.

Maya listened to Jane Spencer’s proposal, took a deep breath and nodded lightly, saying "Okay!" She knew that when everyone asked for her help, it was definitely related to Owen Clan. Presumably, Big Sister heard about someone taking her to lunch, hence inviting her into the collaboration.

Yet, she couldn’t understand why Big Sister, being Liam’s biological sister, didn’t step in herself? Why go around her, it doesn’t make sense?

Maya didn’t know that Big Sister was exceptionally aloof, and when Owen Clan faced difficulties back then, she suggested declaring bankruptcy. However, Liam didn’t agree and resolutely returned to Owen Clan. The siblings had a big fight over it, with Big Sister stating that Owen Clan could never be revived, and even if it were, she’d stay in Spencer Clan Group and never collaborate with Owen Clan.

That year, Jane Spencer thought her brother might want to use her, to have her persuade Grandpa to invest in rescuing Owen Clan Group. At the time, she was still studying, rarely involved in work matters, so she didn’t want to cause trouble for herself. But she hadn’t expected an 18-year-old Liam to revive Owen Clan and bring it to life.

Still, she remembered her angry words from back then, so even if she wanted to collaborate with Owen Clan again, she never lowered herself to mention it to Liam. Now it was convenient, they have his little nemesis at home, why not use her.

In truth, Maya was unwilling to help, thinking calmly, since she’d already been involved with someone like this, she might as well use the opportunity to help the Spencer Family, allowing her mother to be buried sooner.

Jane Spencer saw Maya not refusing her and beamed, saying, "Maya, at the charity event the day after tomorrow, Grandpa will announce you as the Fifth Miss of the Spencer Family. Tomorrow, I’ll accompany you to buy some pretty dresses, let’s create a sensation."

"Okay!" Maya agreed with her head down.

Opposite, Elia was furious, thinking even Big Sister now has to flatter the little demon, feeling unable to hold herself together; she thought, next time she sees Third Brother, she must build a relationship with him, make him like her and protect her.

Thus, the next day, Maya was taken shopping by Jane Spencer for clothes, making her gradually find it harder to refuse her tasks.

On the day of the charity event, due to Jane Spencer and Lillian Morris entering together, Maya had to board the yacht with Hannah and Elia.

Most people on the yacht were unknown to Maya, wearing the bright red dress Jane bought for her, she particularly stood out even while sitting alone in the corner.

In a corner of the banquet hall, she sat alone at the bar, listening to the buzzing crowd; she slowly got up and moved towards the center of the crowd.

Curious as to why people suddenly became so lively, she wondered if they’d struck a reef, hitting the ship? Clearly, this possibility was zero.

Pushing through the crowd, she reached the front of the banquet hall and saw Jane Spencer and Lillian Morris hand in hand entering the venue for the first time together in public, no wonder it was so bustling.

As she turned to leave, she heard the crowd erupt more enthusiastically than before, each shout of ’Third Young Master’ reminding her of her adversary coming.

Maya turned her head and looked back, only to spot a girl dressed identically to her holding onto someone’s arm.
