Chapter 118: Chapter 116: Resigned to Fate Hannah listened to Jane Spencer’s warning, panicked, and hurriedly explained, "Jane, you can’t say such things carelessly. However, the third young master truly cares for this sister; he doesn’t even care for his own life for her sake. He said he would jump into the sea and did just that. It seems this fifth young lady is very favored at home.

Jane Spencer looked at Hannah’s flustered appearance and said fiercely, "Don’t think you can get away with it."

"Everyone shut up." At this point, Old Master Spencer was furious, pounding the deck with his cane, yelling at the noisy crowd.

Immediately, the crowd quieted down and made way for Old Master Spencer, so he could stand by the railing for a better view of the rescue operation.

Under the sea, the night lights illuminated the deep sea, the water was crystal clear, just like a painting, incredibly beautiful. Everyone stood on the deck, and some could even clearly see the sailors rescuing in the sea.

Everyone crowded at the railing, their hearts in suspense. Even though some had ill intentions, hoping certain people would never return, they were still nervous.

As time ticked by, Maya’s consciousness began to fade. Even though she was good at holding her breath, she couldn’t swim. Falling into the sea, she gradually sank, and the dark deep sea made her feel terrified, feeling she was getting closer and closer to hell.

She recalled the scene just moments ago, remembering only being grabbed from behind, her mouth covered, lifted horizontally, and thrown into the sea.

In the moment her eyelids fell, she saw a familiar figure, the one she occasionally encountered, who would drink with her, and call her a femme fatale.

For a moment, her panicked heart calmed. She knew the lights around her weren’t heaven but rather a sign of life.

Looking at that familiar figure, she closed her eyes. Whether she lived or died, she left it to fate.

Moments later, three figures emerged on the sea surface, one of them being Maya. The sailors immediately gathered around them and swiftly carried them to the lifeboat.

Subsequently, receiving the signal, Xavier Graham and Lucas Shaw surfaced one after another, swimming towards the lifeboat.

At this moment, Madam Reid suddenly broke down. She shouted at the rescue personnel in the sea, "My son, my son Henry Reid hasn’t come up yet."

"Go save my son quickly."

Listening to Madam Reid’s cries, the sailors once again jumped into the sea to search and rescue. Xavier and several others also jumped back into the sea to search for Henry Reid.

On the deck, Jane Spencer breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Lillian Morris and Liam Spencer safely arrive.

Three minutes later, the unconscious Henry Reid was successfully rescued by Xavier Graham and Lucas Shaw from the sea bottom.

Usually, Henry was a strong swimmer, but this time, because it involved Maya, he lost his composure. He didn’t realize that his anxiety made it impossible for him to stay calm and perform the rescue operation normally. So, when he jumped into the sea, his breath was already disrupted, quickly falling into unconsciousness even faster than Maya.

He had said earlier that morning that he hated Maya, was clearly disappointed in her. Yet, upon hearing the news that she fell into the water, he still felt afraid, afraid of losing her. If she was no longer there, his life would lose all meaning. As long as she was alive and well, no matter if she was bad or good; as long as he could watch her from afar, it was enough for him. This was Henry’s feelings for Maya, an inexplicable love.

Inside the cabin, the doctor performed emergency measures on the unconscious Maya and Henry Reid.

The doctor said Maya would be alright once she woke up, but Henry’s condition was more complicated, his mind was chaotic, hypoxia was serious, and he needed to be hospitalized immediately for further examination. So, the cruise ship quickly docked to prepare for the next step of rescue work.

In Maya’s room, Liam Spencer watched the visitors crowded into her room, said nothing, picked Maya up from the bed, and headed to his spare room.

As he left, Lucas Shaw said, "Liam, we’re already investigating the matter, don’t worry."

"Hmm," Liam responded absentmindedly, holding Maya as he left.

At this moment, what he cared about most was when Maya would wake up and whether she would be alright.

In his room, Maya lay quietly on the large bed, while Liam sat on the sofa beside her, his hands clenched into fists, resting against his lips, staring intently at the still unconscious Maya.
