Chapter 133: Chapter 131 Third Brother Gets Angry The man listened to her voice, rudely shook off her small hand, and walked away without looking back. He clearly felt her attitude toward him just now, determined to drag him down with her.
Liam Spencer is proud by nature, he couldnât accept the girlâs attitude and also couldnât accept her overtures towards him, especially when they had ulterior motives.
"Third Brother, I just..." Before Maya Spencer could explain, she heard the "bang" of a door slam shut, which startled her into shock, dumbly standing at the door, at a loss.
She thought, oh no! Oh no! Heâs angry. She couldnât let him be angry, she needed to coax him; she still wanted to stay with the Spencer Family, wanted to figure everything out.
Just as she was about to open the door to chase after Liam, her wrist was grabbed by Henry Reid.
Facing Henry Reid, Maya was full of anger. How could he pretend to be unconscious, how could he not wake up? So, she shook his hand off forcefully, only for him to quickly grab it again.
She yelled, "Let go of me!"
He questioned, "Is what Liam said true?"
Maya listened to his questioning, didnât need to spell it out, and knew what he was referring to. She turned around, swallowed, and said seriously, "Yes, every word Liam said, even the punctuation, is true."
"Maya, I know you were forced, youâre unwilling, letâs stop before itâs too late, okay? Donât keep making mistakes, heâs your biological brother, how can you get involved in such things? Maya, how about moving out of the Spencer Family? Iâll pretend I didnât know anything and take care of you, alright?"
Henry Reedâs every word was heartfelt, especially after hearing Mayaâs angry accusations toward Liam, he could discern that his Maya was forced, she needed to be rescued, to be freed from his clutches.
Maya listened to Henryâs suggestion and laughed coolly, she said, "Henry Reid, did water get into your brain? Was it flooded? You want someone as good as Elia, why are you pestering me! Iâm telling you, I donât like you, even if you jump into the sea to save me, I still wonât like you."
Ignoring Mayaâs honesty, Henry chose to overlook it, cupping Mayaâs face with expectation, he pleaded, "Maya, tell me, tell me that you and Liam were just acting, just trying to wake me up, that nothing happened between you two, right?"
"Haha!" Faced with Henryâs guess, Maya laughed coldly, thinking, heâs obviously bothered, why deceive himself, why keep pestering her.
She lifted her small hand, wanting to take Henryâs hand off her face but couldnât. So, she grasped his wrist with both hands tightly and solemnly declared.
"Henry Reid,
"Itâs impossible! Itâs impossible! Youâre lying, you always do this, just like last time, you didnât tell me that it was Sienna and Elia who wronged you first, thatâs why you retaliated against Sienna, you intentionally made me hate you, you did it on purpose. Maya, Iâm telling you, I love only you in this life, no matter what you say or do, I love you."
Henryâs persistence and self-deception left Maya feeling incomprehensible; she never knew people could deceive themselves like this.
She found Henryâs actions laughable. So she laughed, and her laughter was erratic, making Henryâs hair stand on end.
After laughing, Maya lifted her head, looked into Henryâs eyes, slightly raised the corners of her mouth, with a hint of a self-mocking smile, and asked, "You know it was Sienna who wronged me first, donât you want to know who helped me after I was drugged?"
Listening to Mayaâs rhetorical question, Henryâs eyes widened, clearly not wanting to know the answer.
Seeing Henryâs sudden change of expression, Maya deliberately leaned her face closer to him, smiling seductively, she said, "The drug was cleared by my Third Brother."
"Maya, enough." Finally, even Henry couldnât take it anymore, he couldnât imagine. Even if he did have some sympathy before, he never dared to think deeply.
Listening to Mayaâs frankness now, he found it unacceptable.
These past days, he pretended to be unconscious, trying to awaken Mayaâs feelings for him, wanting to see her every day, hear her voice, make her see how deeply he loved her, yet she was still trying her hardest to make herself hate her.
However, Maya took advantage of Henryâs momentary lapse, pried his hand open, ran through the door, and left without looking back.
Meanwhile, Liam returned to Owen Clan Group with a belly full of fury. Every time he recalled Mayaâs accusations, remembered her asking if he intended to drive her to death, he felt extraordinarily uneasy, never feeling this way in his life. Even when Grace left him, he didnât have this state of mind.
He just couldnât understand, besides sleeping with her, besides making her happy, what else did he do? Didnât he bring nothing but benefits? Why was she so ungrateful?
In the car, he took a deep breath, lowered the air conditioning to the minimum, but his heart still felt hot and irritated to the extreme.
However, Maya, who left the hospital, had nowhere to stay. In her current state, she couldnât return to the Spencer Family, nor did she know how to explain to everyone why she came back early from Liamâs apartment, fearing sheâd slip up, let everyone know she had a falling out with Liam, and experience jeers. She feared Grandpa would immediately stop the plan to inter Mom at the cemetery.
Although she still had the keys to Liamâs apartment in her bag, she didnât dare to go back. Liam was angry now, and he wouldnât be kind to her. She was afraid he would be so furious, heâd accidentally end her life.
Maya admitted; she was a coward, afraid to provoke him when he was mad. So, she found a restaurant near the apartment in a department store and hid inside.
Feeling down, her appetite surprisingly increased; it seemed eating more could fill the emptiness and fear in her heart.
At the same time, she was waiting, waiting for news from Liam, then she would go find him.
Midway, she called Elijah Reed twice, asking about Liamâs condition, and asked him to keep it a secret. Much to her helplessness, Elijah couldnât provide information about Liamâs mood.
Though time passed slowly, a day felt like a century. But night eventually fell, and Maya had eaten three meals in the restaurant and couldnât eat another bite.
Then, she dialed Elijahâs number again and asked, "Elijah, has my Third Brother finished work? How is his mood?"
"Miss Maya, the BOSS is off work, his mood? Compared to usual, he seems not too happy."
"Hmm! I got it!"
"Phew..." Hanging up the phone, Maya let out a long sigh; it seemed that man was still angry.
Soon after, her older sister called, and she answered, tensely asking, "Older sister, is something wrong?"
"Maya, did you have a falling out with Liam?" Jane Spencer directly asked about their relationship.
Listening to her sisterâs question, Maya felt a chill in her heart. Thinking, Liam really was angry, really did something, or her sister wouldnât have called.
