Chapter 148 - Pregnant?
Chapter 148 of "No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother" begins with suspenseful moments: "That bitch, she brought it upon herself. I canât let this child be born." Elia... Donât miss it!
"That bitch, she brought it upon herself. I canât let this child be born." Elia cried out to Hannah when she arrived.
"Are you brainless? This child belongs to your third brother. Even if it canât be born, you canât harm her. Otherwise, do you think your third brother will let you go?" Hannah, with more experience, thought further ahead than Elia.
"No! The child isnât my third brotherâs; itâs Henryâs. Before the exam, Maya didnât come home; she was living with Henry." At this point, Elia was crying uncontrollably.
"Are you foolish? Just because she says itâs Henryâs doesnât make it his. Sheâs deliberately provoking you to make you abort her child and drag you down, making you the scapegoat for this child." Hannah, in a few simple words, exposed Mayaâs intentions.
"Mom! Itâs not like that; I went to see Henry this morning. He also said the child is his, and he even said he wants to marry this bitch."
What Elia said confused Hannah, but seeing her daughter crying her heart out, she felt sorry. She thought, could Henry be telling the truth? If the child isnât his, he wouldnât be foolish enough to marry this woman, right?
Enough! Enough! These things were beyond her understanding, and she didnât want to think about them anymore. In any case, no matter whose child it was, Elia shouldnât resort to violence against her.
So, she held the sobbing Elia and comforted her, "If Henry wants to marry her, let him! There are plenty of men in the world. Why should we be stuck on one tree? We can just find another. Besides, heâs not the best."
Hearing her motherâs opportunistic words, Elia cried even more fiercely, broke away, and went to grab Maya, clutching her clothes while crying and screaming, "Give Henry back to me! Give Henry back to me!"
"Nonsense! What are you all doing?" At this moment, Old Master Spencer came in, looking at the undignified scene with a livid face.
Seeing this, Hannah immediately pulled Elia away and awkwardly explained, "Just two kids being childish, theyâll be fine."
"What did you just say on the phone? Whoâs pregnant?" Old Master Spencer asked.
"Maya! But itâs not confirmed yet; she came back last night and has been vomiting. Based on our experience, we suspect sheâs pregnant." Hannah was cautious in her actions and wouldnât claim anything without evidence.
Moreover, by bringing up the matter, Old Master Spencer would naturally handle the following actions, and soon enough, the truth would be revealed.
"Experience judgment? Are you a doctor? What are you judging?" Clearly, Old Master Spencer had no fondness for his daughter-in-law Hannah.
"Grandfather! Why are you out?" At this moment, Jane Spencer returned with Old Master Spencer following behind.
Jane quickly surveyed the situation in the living room, gaining a basic understanding. It seemed that whether Maya was pregnant or not would soon be clarified.
Old Master Spencer glanced at the father and daughter who had returned together, his expression still sour. The household had been unsettled for days, giving him a headache. Little did he know, if he hadnât brought Liam back, if he hadnât let Liam meet Maya, the house would still be peaceful.
Then, his gaze fell on Maya, and he sternly asked, "Maya, are you pregnant?"
Hearing her grandfatherâs question, Maya took a deep breath and calmly replied, "I donât know!"
The old man asked again, "If you are, whose child is it?"
"I donât know!" Maya still answered with those three words.
"Nonsense! How can you not know whose child you might be carrying?" Now, Old Master Spencer was furious.
"Grandfather, donât be angry. This might all be a misunderstanding. Maybe Maya is just unwell, and we shouldnât jump to conclusions." Jane tried to ease the awkward atmosphere by defending Maya, playing the mediator once again.
"Hannah, take her to the hospital for an examination. If anything happens to her, you need not stay in the Spencer Family." It was most suitable for Hannah to do the examination, after all, she was Mayaâs âmother.â
"Okay! I wonât let anything happen to her." Hannah understood that the old man wasnât cautious about others, but about her, fearing that in a moment of impulse, she might really harm Maya!
"Disperse! Thereâs nothing to fuss about something without substance." Then she turned to Hannah and said, "Come to my study."
And so this minor commotion subsided. Jane Spencer took Mayaâs suitcase and brought her back to the bedroom, speaking earnestly, "Maya, where are you planning to go? Liam isnât around these days; no one can take care of you. Just stay at home comfortably; with me and Grandpa here, no one will dare to touch you. Besides, at least there are servants at home to run errands for you!"
Through her elder sisterâs words, Maya distinctly felt that she had already assumed she was pregnant and believed the child was Liamâs.
She didnât deny it or explain; she just hoped someone would either never return or hurry back.
After lunch, Hannah took her to the hospital. After the morningâs uproar, Hannahâs attitude towards her improved significantly, even helping her with her bags, running errands for her, and frequently asking what she wanted to eat.
Maya guessed it was because Grandpa reprimanded her, so she was behaving herself more.
At three in the afternoon, the two were in the directorâs office, waiting for the results.
The director, seeing Hannah, hurriedly reported, "Madam Spencer, the test results are out."
"Director, Iâm sorry; this is my youngest daughter, young and naive, making you laugh." This was the first time Hannah introduced Maya as her daughter in front of outsiders.
Maya couldnât help but sneer internally, thinking that Grandpa must have given her significant leverage!
"The young people today are quite modern, thereâs not much to it, just make sure to take protective measures."
"So whatâs Mayaâs health status? Is she pregnant?"
The director, seeing Hannah impatiently inquire, lifted his right hand and adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose, saying, "Madam Spencer, your daughterâs health indicators are all healthy, except for a bit of hypoglycemia and itâs confirmed that she is five weeks pregnant. Currently, she is very healthy."
"Really pregnant!" Although everyone had already expected this result, Hannah was still taken aback.
"Yes! If you wish to keep the child, remember to have regular prenatal checks."
In an instant, Maya was also stunned. She had been holding onto a sliver of hope; it seemed her last hope had vanished. She was truly carrying Liamâs child, a child destined to be unhealthy.
At this moment, she couldnât help but wish that if only the child were Henryâs, at least he is healthy.
But to Mayaâs surprise, upon finding out she was pregnant, everyone fell silent, not one word of blame.
The peaceful days continued until five days later when Elia called her from the bedroom to the living room for a family meeting.
