After Hannah finished speaking, she covered her mouth and laughed quietly, thinking, things are lively at home now. The Third Young Master and the Fifth Miss are having a baby. If this child is born, what would the Old Master Spencer be called? Grandpa or maternal grandpa? She found the thought amusing.
In the dining room, Maya Spencer listened to Hannahâs sarcasm without concern, rolled her eyes at her, and quickly walked up to her. Staring into her eyes, she angrily asked, "Which eye of yours saw that I was pregnant?"
"Oh! Still so stubborn! In a couple of months, when your belly shows, wonât everyone see it? No, wait! This child seems like it canât be born! What if it comes out missing an arm or a leg? That would be a sin."
Hannahâs words were particularly vicious, especially now that no one else was home; she could taunt Maya as much as she liked.
"Aunt Hannah, letâs see if your mouth is sharper or my third brotherâs ears are sharper," Maya said as she went to dial Liam Spencerâs number to let him hear how Hannah criticized him when he wasnât around.
"What do you think youâre doing? Did I say the child is Liamâs? Did I name names? What are you even matching numbers against?" Hannah immediately snatched Mayaâs phone away and tossed it aside.
Then, she sneered, "Why bother with such bravado? Just have breakfast! Even if you donât eat, the one in your belly needs to, right? After all, itâs your own child. Could you really be this heartless and end her life?"
Hannah was eager for the child to be born, so everyone could see the joke, so naturally, she wanted to take good care of Maya, not letting her get even a bit hurt.
Maya listened to Hannahâs maliciously intended concern and solemnly said, "Let me tell you, Iâm not pregnant. Seeing you last night made me sick."
"Thatâs right! Thatâs right! Iâll step away to avoid making you nauseous again."
As soon as Hannah finished speaking, Maya covered her mouth once more, and a wave of nausea shot through her, leaving her too uncomfortable to stand steady.
Off to the side, Hannah watched her reaction, feeling gloatingly pleased, yet falsely considerate as she said, "Alright, alright! Iâm making you sick. Iâll go, Iâll go!" She turned and left, with her delight clear in her dancing eyebrows.
Although Maya being pregnant was of no benefit to Elia Spencer in the fight over the inheritance, it at least added a splash of color to her otherwise dull life, passing some time.
Maya watched Hannahâs retreating figure going upstairs and quickly rushed to her bedroomâs bathroom, leaning over the toilet to throw up.
Since sheâd vomited several times last night, there was nothing left in her stomach at this point, and she was only bringing up bile. Even smelling her usual shower gel and shampoo made her want to retch.
Her physical discomfort put her in an exceptionally bad mood. She raised her right hand and slapped her belly a few times, gritting her teeth as she cursed, "Liam Spencer, you scoundrel, how can you still be living so arrogantly?"
Maya imagined that scoundrel might be abroad on a business trip, possibly with some foreign beauty clinging to him, which filled her with resentment, wishing heâd die in a foreign land.
What frustrated her the most at the moment was that she shouldnât have returned to the Spencerâs estate last night - a place full of women whoâve had children who could totally see what was going on with her.
So she quickly packed her things, getting ready to hide out at Liamâs apartment for a few days.
The child in her stomach absolutely could not be born, but she was not willing to just get rid of it without it being anyoneâs responsibility but hers, while that scoundrel remained at large. As she packed her clothes, she contemplated how to seek revenge on Liam Spencer.
Once she realized that she no longer had any weakness in the Spencersâ hands, she devised a self-destructive yet harmful way of retaliation. While this approach could cost her as well, it was better than silently suffering the loss.
A moment later, as she was dragging her suitcase and preparing to leave the Spencer estate, she was stopped by Elia Spencer. Her eyes were red as she glared fiercely at Maya, as if she wanted to devour her.
Maya dragged her suitcase, shifting two steps to the left, completely ignoring her presence.
As Elia watched Maya trying to leave the Spencer estate, she couldnât help but think that since the Third Brother was on a business trip these days, and the Turner siblings were not in S City, who else could she go to but Henry?
This moment convinced Elia even more that the things Henry had said were true, believing Maya was pregnant with his child. She couldnât accept that they were already together, nor could she accept Henry marrying her.
So she wouldnât let Maya leave the Spencer estate or go to Henry. She wanted to make sure everyone knew about her pregnancy and to immediately inform Grandpa and Dad. Pregnant out of wedlock! Making the Spencer family lose so much face, did she think she could just easily walk away? Not a chance.
Thus, she suddenly snatched Mayaâs suitcase and kicked it aside, grabbing her collar aggressively as she asked, "Slut, whose is the child after all?"
Seeing Elia in such a frustrated rage, Maya had almost guessed sheâd gone to Henry, and Henry had shouldered the blame for this matter.
When she thought of Henry claiming the child was his, Mayaâs heart was touched, and she couldnât understand what kind of attitude that man had towards liking her. How could he shoulder everything? Becoming a dad by mistake, could that be something you easily claim?
But to infuriate Elia, to push her to the edge, Maya took a deep breath and smiled nonchalantly before saying, "Itâs Henryâs! Are you stupid, or am I? Do you really think Iâd have anything with the Third Brother? Are you crazy?"
"You bitch!" Seeing the girl act so indifferent, Elia raised her hand to slap her face.
For a moment, Maya was stunned from the slap, but when Elia raised her hand to strike again, Maya quickly caught her wrist, landed two slaps in retaliation, and then forcefully pushed her by the collar, sneering coldly.
"Are you an idiot! Sneak attacking me, hitting my face for what? Iâm pregnant now; you should kick my belly. Maybe the child would be gone, and Henry and I would part ways as well."
Maya was deliberately provoking Elia, tempting her to attack her belly. If she really kicked the child out of her, it would be murder. Wouldnât she have to spend a few years in prison for that?
Besides, how could an exceedingly proud man like Liam Spencer let their child be easily harmed by Elia? Even if she couldnât pay with a life, sheâd pay with at least half of one.
When Elia, who had been pushed to the ground, heard Mayaâs provocation, she took off her high heels and aimed to smash them onto Mayaâs stomach, desperate to get rid of the child.
Seeing her smashing at her stomach, Maya neither dodged nor defended, letting her do it, but the blows were so weak that they had no effect whatsoever.
"Elia, are you crazy? Why are you hitting her stomach?" In the bedroom, Hannah heard from the servants that Elia and Maya were fighting and quickly rushed down.
Before heading down, she had already notified Old Master Spencer and Old Madam Spencer by phone.
