Maya sees Lillian still speaking for Liam and gets angry, saying, "Why are you still defending him? You donât know how much of a jerk he is!"
After saying this, she squints her eyes and looks Lillian up and down several times, saying, "No, no! You must be a spokesperson sent by my big sister; youâre afraid I might harm this child, right?"
"You say Liam is suspicious, but I think youâre quite suspicious too." Lillian is truly not sent by Jane Spencer but came on her own.
"Come on! Youâre always praising Liam; you must be one of them." Maya criticizes Lillian while moving backward to keep a distance, as if afraid he might brainwash her into marrying Liam.
"Iâve said all I needed to say; you should think about it yourself." Seeing Maya reject him, Lillian stands up intending to leave.
"I know how to think!" Maya says she knows how to think, but deep down sheâs even more against Liam and wonât develop further with him.
Her temper is odd; the more others want her to do something, the more rebellious she feels. Sheâs not easily swayed and wonât easily change her opinion of another person.
Moreover, her resentment towards Liam has been freezing for a long time. Now that she finally has no ties with the Spencer Family, how could she easily go back?
Watching Lillian leave, she quickly climbs off the bed, puts on slippers, and follows behind him to see him out.
As they reach the door of the ward, Lillian is about to open it when Liam suddenly bursts in, with furrowed brows and a sharp gaze fixed on Maya.
Earlier, inside the ward, he had heard every word of her criticism clearly.
If he hadnât happened to hear Mayaâs opinion of him today, he wouldnât have known how deeply hateful she is towards him.
Seeing Liam burst in, Maya was momentarily stunned, standing frozen, her gaze darting around, unsure where to look.
Thinking, itâs like sheâs seen a ghost; itâs the first time she got caught badmouthing someone behind their back, and from Liamâs glare, she knows he heard what she said about him.
Lillian looks at the two standing one after the other, feeling helpless. He pats Liamâs shoulder, advising, "Maya is pregnant now, her emotions are unstable, be more tolerant."
Now, everyone seems to have to remind Liam that Maya is pregnant when speaking to him, as if he were really despicable, like if she werenât pregnant, he would do something terrible to her.
Listening to Lillianâs advice, Liam dismissively hums; he doesnât reprimand Maya in front of Lillian, already showing enough face to both of them.
Besides, who asked this guy to meddle and persuade Maya to marry him? Did he tell anyone he wanted to marry Maya? With her demeanor, thinking she could be the third mistress of the Spencer Familyâno chance.
Indeed, until now, Liam never considered marrying Maya; he only thought of having her give birth to the child and staying by his side; as for the future, they would see it later.
Lillian turns to remind the girl, "Sweeten your words, donât sound like youâre exploding."
"Hmm!" Maya responds lightly, thinking sweeten her words? Thatâs a joke; why would she sweeten her words? She isnât cornered now, and sheâs got no reason to bow to anyone.
After Lillian leaves, Maya does not look at Liam, turns around, and heads to the bed as if nothing happened, covering herself, going back to sleep.
Liam watches her lazy demeanor and, recalling her criticism, suddenly says, "I apologize for having you carry a jerkâs child."
"Iâm not that stupid; the child isnât yours." Maya insists the child isnât Liamâs.
The man listens to her denial, places the supplements he brought on the dining table, quickly walks over to the bed, and with a swift hand "whoosh", pulls back the covers, grabs her arm, pulls her up, and stares into her eyes with a serious question.
"Maya, do you really think I would coax you into marrying me, so youâre acting entitled here?"
Maya looks at the angry man and retorts, "I never thought so. I know exactly what attitude you have towards me and what you consider me to be."
Liam sees the girlâs fierce gaze, releases her wrist, grabs her chin, and solemnly announces, "Maya, donât get cocky; let me tell you the truth, when I slept with you, I never intended to marry you. Who do you think you are?
Maya hears the manâs warning, boiling with anger, nearly spitting blood in his face; this bastard.
Unable to accept her situation, Maya suddenly pushes him away, points to the door, and furiously declares, "Get out! Get out now!"
Both had promised Lillian to get along well, yet as soon as he left, they clashed.
This time, Maya is too lazy to argue further with Liam because, as a tool, anything she says or does is unnecessary and has no impact on him; she just wants him gone from her sight forever.
Listening to her command to leave, the man fiercely releases her chin, stands upright, turns around, and heads out of the room without looking back, thinking, if he steps in this room again, he must be crazy. As for the child, let her do as she wishes; plenty of women want to have a child for him, he doesnât lack her.
If he wants, by this time next year, he could have enough to form a football team.
Watching the manâs departing figure, Maya wishes she could throw what he brought at him. But she knows that if she does, they would end up in an endless fight again, so she swallows her anger and watches him leave, praying he wonât come back.
As Liam reaches the door, the nurse suddenly bursts in, noticing their sour expressions, she cautiously asks, "The patient can be discharged, is there a family member here? Could you accompany me to do the discharge procedure?"
Momentarily, the roomâs atmosphere grows awkward againâfamily member? Sheâs not part of the Spencer Family; her uncle isnât in S City, where would she have a family member?
Taking a deep breath, she confidently replies, "No family member, Iâll handle the procedures myself."
