"Henry, donât mess around. This has nothing to do with you; itâs our family matter." Hannah looked at Henry with a determined expression. If she didnât have evidence in her hand, she might have believed him.
"Aunt Hannah, Iâm not messing around. I came to the Spencer Family today to propose. I want to marry Maya, immediately, right now!"
"Henry, are you crazy? That child is not yours at all." At this moment, Elia was also furious.
"I say itâs mine, so itâs mine." Henry insisted that the child was his, and nobody could do anything about it.
"What evidence do you have to say the child is yours?" Old Master Spencer looked at the abrupt intruder Henry, furrowing his brows as he asked. Clearly, Henryâs appearance displeased him.
"What kind of evidence is needed? Donât I even know my own child?" Henry replied with a cold smile.
Maya listened to Henryâs certainty, took a deep breath, turned her head to glance at Henry, and then looked at Old Master Spencer to explain.
"Grandpa, the child is not Henryâs." She rejected Henryâs goodwill because he was not part of her plan.
Henry heard Mayaâs denial and thought she was crazy. He thought, at this critical moment, why is she still going against him? Of course, they should first hide it from the Spencers, and as for the childâs and the marriage issue, they could discuss it privately.
So he reached out his right hand, pulled Maya up from the sofa, and pretended to be angry, saying, "Maya, we can fight, but donât be stubborn. Donât worry everyone, okay?"
Maya looked at Henryâs goodwill, raised a bitter smile at him, then shook off his hand and said helplessly, "Henry, why are you getting involved? This has nothing to do with you, I donât need your sympathy, just go back!"
"Since the child is not Henryâs, then whose is it?" Old Master Spencer pressed closer step by step, making people even more puzzled about why he was so anxious to know whose the child was.
Could it be that he wasnât aware that this child couldnât be born? Was such aggressiveness amusing? Wasnât he afraid it would backfire and become increasingly awkward?
"Grandpa, you donât need to ask anymore. I donât know whose child it is. The only thing I can confirm is that itâs not Henryâs." With that, Maya turned around and prepared to leave.
This meaningless family meeting didnât interest her. Instead, she was more interested in what drama would unfold next.
Hannah looked at the proud and aloof Maya, took a deep breath, and hated her so much that she gritted her teeth, then said with certainty, "Dad, the child is Liamâs, I have evidence."
Even though she was very reluctant to show the evidence, things had come to this point, and she had no choice. Since Little Demon simply wouldnât admit it, and Old Master Spencer was aware of it, she might as well side with Old Master Spencer to fulfill the old manâs wish.
Old Master Spencer listened to Hannahâs words, looked at her, and asked puzzledly, "What evidence do you have?"
"Dad! Wait a moment." As Hannah spoke, she turned and walked toward the second floor, and moments later, she came down holding a document folder.
When she returned to the living room, she glanced at Maya and handed the envelope to Old Master Spencer.
The old man received what Hannah called evidence, also glanced at Maya, opened the envelope, and took out its contents.
When the envelope was opened, Old Master Spencer saw many photos of Liam and Maya, and their behaviors were unbecoming.
The old man looked at these photos, furrowed his brows tightly, quickly threw the photos on the coffee table, and stared at Maya, asking angrily, "Maya, what else is there to explain?"
Maya listened to her grandpaâs words, looked at the photos on the coffee table, and grabbed them at once.
There were many photos, and they were taken extremely clearly, with photos of Liam hugging her, kissing her,
From the photos, the two looked very much like a couple in love, being intimate anytime, anywhere. The way Liam looked at her made her feel delusional, as if he wasnât her brother.
Standing beside them, Jane Spencer took the photos from Mayaâs hand, flipped through a few, and couldnât help but heave a sigh, giving Hannah a stern look.
Thinking, now Maya couldnât deny it even if she wanted to. But how could the two be so careless, being followed, and even having cameras installed in their room without realizing it? Too careless.
Then, she glared at Hannah and reprimanded, "Aunt Hannah, this is stalking, peeping, do you know itâs illegal?"
Seeing Jane attach such a big hat to her, Hannah was not having it. She immediately jumped up from the sofa and explained, "I didnât take these photos! I just received them yesterday, and I donât know who sent them to me."
"What nonsense are you talking about? If someone had these photos, wouldnât they use them to threaten Liam? Why would they send them to you? Couldnât your lie be a bit more coherent? Aunt Hannah, you are indeed bold enough to install cameras in Liamâs room." Janeâs words were all targeted at Hannah, intending to shift the topic to privacy issues, making everyone overlook the pregnancy issue.
However, Hannah panicked, thinking, how could this hot potato fall into her hands? Holding the evidence should have been a good thing, so how did it end up making her the culprit? It wasnât her who got Maya pregnant; the blame was on the indiscretion of those two for getting their photos taken.
So, she hurriedly explained, "Even if you lend me a few more guts, I wouldnât dare provoke Liam. These photos werenât taken by me. Even if Maya is pregnant with Liamâs child, itâs not a big deal, just let it be born."
"Hannah, shut your mouth!" Old Master Spencer saw her words going way off track and quickly stopped her.
Maya, however, asked with a mixture of tears and laughter, "Are you crazy? Can this child even be born?"
Listening to Old Master Spencerâs reprimand and Janeâs questioning, Hannah felt like she was unwanted everywhere, so she impatiently rolled her eyes at Jane and said, "Anyway, I didnât take the pictures, and Iâm not taking the fall for this."
"Enough! Stop arguing. I admit that there was an inappropriate affair between me and my third brother, but the child is definitely not his, I guarantee it." Everyone was talking over each other, making her head hurt, yet she still didnât admit to the childâs matter.
Even with the evidence right in front of her, she refused to admit it, she wanted everyone to feel uncertain, to be unhappy.
"If the child is not Liamâs, then have the child." Old Master Spencer looked at the defiant Maya and issued an ultimatum to threaten her. As long as she didnât fear giving birth to a monster, then let her keep denying it. After all, the one who would suffer would be her.
Mayaâs face turned quite ugly when she heard the demand to have the child.
At this point, Henry, standing in the center of the living room, was completely dumbfounded. He never imagined there would be photos as evidence. He stood there feeling like a joke, where every move seemed wrong.
"The child really is mine." Amidst the deadlock, a voice suddenly came from outside the door, the very calm voice of Liam.
