Chapter 487 - Be Quieter
Chapter 487 of "No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother" introduces the scene: At this moment, Liam Spencer and Elijah Reed had already run to Maya Spencer and... Keep going!
At this moment, Liam Spencer and Elijah Reed had already run to Maya Spencer and Aron Hanson, squatting down to inquire about the situation."Iâm fine, but Uncle, he seems to have been shot," Maya said, then turned over and hugged Aron.
"Iâm okay." Aron smiled at Maya to reassure her, but soon, his eyelids drooped.
"Uncle, Uncle!" Maya looked at Aron, who suddenly passed out, and became distraught. She thought Aron had died.
Elijah, however, scrutinized Aron and calmly said, "Miss Maya, Young Master Hansonâs left arm was shot, probably passed out from the pain, but it shouldnât be serious."
Even though Elijah said Aron wasnât in life-threatening danger, Maya couldnât stop her tears from falling, âpitter-patter,â she was heartbroken.
Noticing the girlâs sorrowful crying, Liam slowly picked her up from the ground, planted a kiss on her dirty face, and comforted her, "Maya, itâs okay now."
From the moment Maya was missing until now, it had been exactly 13 hours, and Liam was frightened to the point of losing his soul.
Soon, the medical staff brought in a stretcher, and Arthur River was subdued by the police and taken away.
This kidnapping incident finally came to a close, but Jane Spencer, the culprit woman, didnât show her face once from the beginning to the end; she cleaned herself too thoroughly.
In the hospital, Maya fell asleep again, and Liam quietly kept her company, holding her little hand tightly for comfort.
When he saw the injuries on Maya, his heart ached to the extreme. Although Maya had already been cleaned up, her pale face was not only covered with fingerprints but also severely swollen. There were rope marks on her wrists and ankles, and her left thigh and calf had been viciously kicked by men, leaving large bruises.
By now, Liam had Hudson Moore temporarily bail Arthur out through a lawyer. As for the violence Arthur inflicted on Maya, he would return it after Maya woke up.
However, Maya kept sleeping on the hospital bed until the afternoon without waking up.
Elijah stood aside, cautiously asked, "Boss, Ella Turner couldnât find Miss Maya, so she came to me. Should I tell her?"
"Hmm!" Then he ordered, "Elijah, announce to the public that Maya and Aron were shot dead by Arthur River."
"Boss, why? Wouldnât that be bad?"
"If I donât say that, how can I make my sister come back quickly?" Liam said with gritted teeth.
Compared to Arthur, Liam hated his own sister, Jane Spencer, even more.
So, half an hour later, news about Maya and Aron being shot dead at the airport was published on major newspapers and headlines, causing a sensation across the nation, and Liamâs phone instantly blew up with calls.
He just hung up Seven Murrayâs call and immediately received Charlotte Owenâs call.
She asked, "Liam, whatâs going on? The news says Maya and her uncle are both dead."
"Yes, shot, rescue was futile." Liamâs attitude was cold toward everyone who called, showing no sign of his profound sadness.
"How is that possible? She was still lively a few days ago when I saw her." Charlotte was stunned, unable to accept this fact, even though she used to dislike Maya, she now genuinely liked her.
"I canât talk now, I have a lot to do, hanging up." Liam said and hung up the phone, then turned off his phone, tossed it on the table beside him, and sat back next to the hospital bed, looking at Maya.
Just after Liam turned off his phone, Elijahâs phone rang immediately.
On the other end, Ella Turner hurriedly asked, "Elijah, what exactly happened? Didnât you say earlier that Maya was okay? How come all the major news headlines now say Maya died, and Aron died too, what on earth is going on?"
Regarding yesterdayâs kidnapping incident, Ella didnât know until now. Besides Xavier Graham, Lucas Shaw, Asher Norton, Hudson Moore, and Elijah, not many knew, of course, besides the police. As for those searching for Maya, they thought she just had mood swings and ran away again.
By the window in the ward, Elijah listened to Ellaâs questioning and quickly explained, "Miss Maya is not dead, but there was indeed a bit of an accident last night, Miss Maya is in the hospital now, you should come and have a look! But letâs not publicize this matter."
Elijah was afraid too many people knowing would make Jane disbelieve the news.
"Okay, Iâll come over immediately." Ella said and hung up the phone, Elijah promptly sent her the hospital and ward number where Maya was located.
Half an hour later, Ella hurried over.
She looked at Maya lying on the hospital bed, her face full of injuries, took a deep breath, and angrily asked, "Principal, what happened to Mayaâs injuries?"
Ellaâs furious little eyes seemed to imply Mayaâs injuries were Liamâs doing.
Though she didnât truly believe Liam caused it, since Maya was Liamâs girlfriend and fiancĂŠe, he had the responsibility to protect her and keep her safe from harm, but what about these injuries on Mayaâs body, she had to demand an answer from Liam.
Beside them, Elijah watched Ella furiously questioning Liam, knowing she was misunderstanding.
Thus, he quickly stepped forward, pulling her to the window to explain, "Last night, Young Masterâs assistant kidnapped Miss Maya, we only rescued her from the airport this morning."
"Kidnapping?" Ellaâs eyes widened in surprise upon hearing the word kidnapping, unable to imagine what Maya experienced last night.
Elijah looked at Ellaâs astonished expression and nodded sternly to acknowledge.
Yet, Ella exploded, raising her right hand, grabbing Elijahâs arm, saying, "So, you left me yesterday night and went to find Maya, but didnât tell me, right?"
Ella was angry, angry that Elijah kept such a huge matter from her, letting her sleep peacefully at home alone.
Elijah listened to Ellaâs criticism and explained further, "I didnât tell you because I was afraid youâd worry too much, and with you alone at home, I worried youâd overthink."
"Is Maya someone else? Isnât it right for me to worry about her problems?" Ella felt guilty, blamed herself for Mayaâs major incident, while she knew nothing.
Seeing the incessant arguing between the two, Liamâs frown deepened, finally, he impatiently said, "Can you both be quiet?"
Elijah and Ella listened to Liamâs reproach, immediately closed their mouths and stopped talking.
Later, Ella approached Mayaâs hospital bed quietly, cautiously asking, "How is Maya now?"
Listening to Ellaâs question, Liam gently caressed Mayaâs face with his right hand, speaking sorrowfully, "Still in a feverish coma."
Then, he took Mayaâs small hand, placed it against his lips, kissed it forcefully, and then pressed it against his own cheek, with reddened eyes, staring intently at Maya.
Thinking about her suffering last night, Liam longed to tear Arthur apart, but more importantly than revenge was waiting for Maya to wake up.
