Chapter 304 - Overthinking
Chapter 304 of "No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother" opens introducing characters: Liam Spencer looked at the girl with a look as if she were facing her... Find out more!
Liam Spencer looked at the girl with a look as if she were facing her death, watching her disdain and indifference towards him. He quickly extended his right hand, grabbed her chin, and coldly mocked, "Maya Spencer, did you think I let you come back to the apartment because I miss you??"Maya listened to Liamâs sarcasm and didnât respond. She simply turned her head forcefully to one side, refusing to look at him.
Seeing this, Liam moved his large hand from her chin to her neck, gripping it neither lightly nor heavily. He forced her face to straighten and said seriously, "Maya, bringing you home was only to leave you unsatisfied both physically and mentally, to let you live a lonely life. So, donât fantasize about being with the one you like; it will never happen."
His words stabbed Mayaâs heart. She looked into his eyes and laughed at herself, laughing for so long, almost as if she had gone mad.
After laughing, she looked at Liam and solemnly promised, "Rest assured, young master! I, Maya, will not harbor any delusions from now on. This is the first and last time."
After speaking, Maya lifted her small hand to push Liam away, then carelessly grabbed a robe and slipped it on.
She dressed in her clothes while Liam remained seated on the bed, not leaving.
Watching the man filled with resentment towards her, Maya felt pain in her chest with every breath. Even she herself didnât understand why she felt so wronged??
Forcing back the tears in her eyes, she looked at Liam and said with a smile, "Young master, thereâs no need to watch me 24 hours a day. I will fulfill your wish and live a lonely life. If you have no other orders, please return to your room! Lest the bed Iâve slept in soils you."
The last sentence was meant to be the other way around in her heartâshe feared Liam would soil her bed.
On the large bed, upon hearing the girlâs words, Liam stood up in anger and left without looking back.
In the bedroom, Maya watched the man leaving with a face full of displeasure. She immediately closed the door, leaned against it slowly, and crouched down, hugging her knees and crying in secret.
She couldnât understand why merely having a secret crush on someone made her deserve such disdain, such resentment??
Sometimes, the harm from words is more severe than the harm caused physically. Liamâs harsh words hurt her even more than ten lashes.
She was forced to trample on her dignity to please him, yet he not only didnât accept it but also harshly mocked her. This undermined Mayaâs self-esteem, nearly driving her to a breakdown. Why, no matter what she did, did Liam always have to find fault? If thatâs the case, why not kill her and end it all? Why leave her to hurt each other?
Outside the bedroom door, Liam didnât return to his room. Instead, he leaned lazily against Mayaâs door, closing his eyes tightly, listening to the sounds inside.
Though Mayaâs crying was faint, Liam outside still heard it. Listening to the girlâs low, cautious cries made his heart ache as if it were being twisted by a knife.
He wanted to push the door open to embrace her, kiss her, and also wanted to make up for the hurt he had just caused, gently satisfying her..
But the moment he thought about how she stayed by his side because of Lillian Morris and was trying to please him because of Lillian, he became furious again, angry that she didnât love him.
The two on either side of the door held their own thoughts, one in deep sorrow, the other filled with resentment.
Maya wasnât afraid of living a lonely life, but she feared Liamâs unhappiness, fearing that he would vent his anger on Lillian.
Maya never thought that liking someone could be so painful, so painful that it made life worse than death. Liamâs revenge succeeded; he said he would make her feel insufferable pain, and he did it.
But outside the door, Liam felt the same. Clearly loving her to the point of insanity but hating her to the bone, clearly wanting to embrace her but unable to accept her compromised affection.
That night, both of them couldnât sleep. Maya cried for most of the night before slowly calming down. Liam stood guard at her door for most of the night until there were no more sounds before finally moving away and returning to his room.
The next day, when Maya got up and came to the living room, Liam didnât go to work. Instead, he sat on the sofa watching TV.
Such days were exceptionally rare, leaving Maya standing in the middle of the living room, at a loss, unable to advance or retreat.
She wanted to avoid Liam but was afraid heâd notice and deliberately pick a fight.
Right now, with Liam appearing in front of her, nothing good would come except quarrels.
Finally, looking at the nonchalant Liam, she took a deep breath and greeted calmly, "Morning."
It wasnât until she opened her mouth to speak that she realized her voice was hoarse.
The man listened to her hoarse voice from crying and couldnât help but roll his eyes. In the past, when her voice was hoarse, it was from yelling in bed. By count, they hadnât slept together for over half a month..
On the side, Maya, seeing the man ignore her, bit her lip and cautiously asked again, "Iâm ordering breakfast. What will you have??"
The man listened to her question but didnât respond, instead grabbing the remote and changing the channel.
As he switched the channel, they heard a reporter announcing, "Hereâs last nightâs news. Last night, at the Morris Clan headquarters building, a man believed to be Chairman Lillian Morris was suspected of attempting to jump, fortunately, staff caught it in time, preventing a tragedy."
"According to our stationâs reporter, recently, Morris Clan Groupâs stocks have plummeted, and many internal shareholders have withdrawn their investments, causing significant losses to Morris Clan Group. Perhaps unable to bear the pressure, Chairman Lillian Morris might have had such thoughts. Our stationâs reporter will continue to follow up on this."
Seeing the news on TV, Maya was momentarily stunned, Lillian attempted to commit suicide?? How could it be possible? Lillian was such a confident, warm person; how could he attempt suicide??
As Maya snapped back to reality, she rushed out the door. She needed to see Lillian and verify the newsâs validity.
On the sofa, Liam listened to the girlâs movements. He abruptly stood up and turned around, yelling angrily at her, "Maya, you dare try stepping out??"
As soon as Liamâs words fell, Mayaâs steps halted at the entrance, and her eyes turned red.
Her small hand gently rested on the doorknob as she bit her lip hard, trying to control her emotions, yet found her body shaking uncontrollably.
In the living room, Liam looked at the motionless girl, took a deep breath, and commanded harshly, "Maya, come here." ÉŞę° Ęá´á´ á´Ąá´É´á´ á´á´ Ęá´á´á´ á´á´Ęá´ á´Ęá´á´á´á´Ęs, á´Ęá´á´sá´ á´ ÉŞsÉŞá´ novel-fire.É´et
Listening to the manâs command, Maya felt a lump in her throat, even more aggrieved. She moved slightly, only to find her body wouldnât obey her.
She didnât want to go over, didnât want to face Liam. She wanted to see Lillian but didnât have the courage to defy Liam, thus the atmosphere remained at a stalemate.
