"The food is ready." After a moment, Maya Spencer knocked on the study room door to remind him.The more nonchalant Maya appeared, the more uncomfortable Liam Spencer felt, and he even had a desire to get angry. However, he couldnāt find a good point of conflict, so he had to suppress the fire inside and stood up from the desk to go to the dining room to eat.
Beside the dining table, after laying out the dishes and chopsticks for him, Maya said nonchalantly, "You eat first, Iāll tidy up after you finish."
At this moment, whenever Maya saw Liam, she felt disgusted and didnāt want to look at him more than once, so she avoided him whenever she could.
The man looked at the girlās indifference and became increasingly irritated, thinking that he hadnāt seen her for a week, and so many scandals had erupted. Didnāt she have any opinions? In the past, she would argue at least with Charlotte Owen and Lydia Jones. Now, no matter how Liam looked at her, she seemed like a soulless dead person.
He wouldnāt tell Maya that those photos were staged by him, and the scandals were also deliberately leaked by him. He even purposely returned home early today with the aim of stirring things up with her.
After a whole week of having no communication with her, Liam couldnāt hold back any longer.
Every day when he came back, she was already asleep. Sitting at her bedside watching her live so easily and freely, he almost wanted to strangle her to death.
But every time it was just a thought; he never laid a hand on her.
Today he finally made up his mind to come home early, yet she was still in that sullen state, which made him uncomfortable.
Watching Mayaās back as she headed for the guest room, Liam suddenly slammed the chopsticks onto the table with a "bang."
Maya was startled by the manās anger and stood frozen for a moment before slowly turning around, frowning as she asked, "Is the food not to your taste? If so, I can order takeout for you."
The man listened to her voice, took a deep breath, and coldly said to her, "Maya, can you stop acting like youāre dying? Itās really annoying to look at."
Hearing the manās accusation, Maya swallowed hard, her chest feeling heavy.
Ever since Liam found out about her secret crush on Lillian Morris, she didnāt know how to interact with him anymore. Whether she was happy or indifferent, he could always find faults and various reasons to be displeased with her.
She knew the problem wasnāt with herself but with Liam because she didnāt satisfy his vanity, didnāt like him, or flatter him like other women did, which made him uncomfortable.
But even if she tried to appease him, he would find a hundred reasons to reject her.
So, she took a deep breath, walked slowly to the dining table, sat opposite him, and calmly said, "Liam, maybe I should go back and stay for a while! Iāll come back after your mood stabilizes, okay?"
Liam listened to her request and suddenly laughed coldly. He asked, "So you think Iām going crazy, that Iām deliberately picking a fight?"
, taking out the first aid kit and sitting by her bed in silence, pulling out her left hand to check her injuries.
Every time he saw the scars on Mayaās wrist, Liamās heart felt like it was being pierced by a knife, but he had no way to completely ignore her.
Unaccustomed to the manās sudden gentleness, Maya retracted her hand and explained, "Itās already healed; thereās no need to change the dressing anymore."
