"Liam, youâre way too good to your sweetheart!" Christopher Scott was watching from the side, his eyes turning green with envy.
This was the first time heâd seen Liam Spencer so tender; he wasnât even this attentive with Grace.
Christopherâs shout left Maya Spencer embarrassed, and Henry Reid also felt awkward.
Liam glanced at the outspoken Christopher, then gently encircled Maya from behind, kissed her cheek and said with a smile, "This is something you canât be jealous of."
Facing Christopherâs envy, Maya did not deny it.
Because Liamâs attitude towards her today was indeed undeniably good, attentive to every detail.
She thought perhaps he felt comfortable with her today, hence his kindness.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Is that dog food meant for someone else to eat? We know youâre getting married; you donât need to be so clingy!" Asher Norton finally spoke after being quiet for so long.
He wasnât trying to avoid seeing the two being affectionate, but his cousin, Henry Reid, was also there today.
His feelings for Maya were also undeniable.
He was worried Henry would suffer, and that guy hadnât spoken all morning.
If he had known in advance someone would bring their wife today, heâd have made sure Henry avoided this meeting.
At the dining table, Henry was the first to take his seat.
He ignored everything around him as he was browsing through messages from his âgirlfriendsâ.
Looking at those flattering lies and false concerns, Henry got increasingly angry.
On ordinary days, he could still pretend to chat with them casually...
But today, seeing someoneâs real affection, he couldnât get in the mood at all.
In the living room, a group of people chatted for a while before Xavier Graham invited everyone to take their seats as dishes were served.
At the dining table, Maya, with nothing to do, was flipping through her phone, having no interest in the work Liam and the others were discussing.
Across from her, Henryâs gaze frequently landed on her; she noticed but didnât care.
A while later, the waiter began serving the dishes, and Maya finally put down her phone, eagerly looking at the delicious spread on the table.
"What do you want to eat?" Liam whispered into her ear, seeing the drool-worthy expression on someoneâs face.
"Iâll help myself." She said casually, picking up a slice of sashimi, dipping it in vinegar, and putting it in her mouth.
As soon as the sashimi entered her mouth, Mayaâs eyes seemed to catch fire.
She loved eating sashimi and enjoying wasabi.
But she couldnât withstand its spiciness, and had accidentally choked.
She was so uncomfortable she almost wanted to bang her head against the wall; grabbing the drink in front of her, she gulped it down.
Next to her, Liam saw her eyes watering from the choke and panicked, patting her back quickly and asking, "Maya, did you choke?"
"Iâm fine! Iâm fine!" Maya waved her hand, not wanting to disturb others during the meal.
Sitting across, Henry looked at Mayaâs flushed face and couldnât help but feel nervous.
Despite feeling uneasy, wanting to stand up and check, Asher seated beside him held him down.
At crucial moments, Henryâs concern for Maya was impossible to hide.
Despite feeling frustrated, despite hating her.
But seeing her in discomfort, he still felt pain, though it was just a choke and no big deal.
Liam was almost dying of anxiety seeing her little face go red from coughing.
He wanted to ease her discomfort but couldnât.
At the dining table, Maya felt embarrassed seeing peopleâs eyes on her, hearing everyone pass her drinks, and hearing their concerns.
So covering her mouth, she said awkwardly, "Sorry for ruining your meal, Iâm really fine, donât bother about me."
After speaking, she slipped from Liamâs large hand and headed towards the washroom inside the suite.
Seeing this, Liam followed her immediately.
As he went after her, he reminded everyone, "Go ahead and eat, Mayaâs fine, donât wait for us."
"Everyoneâs been tired all morning, letâs relax in the afternoon, sauna, karaoke, or rest, itâs your choice, but letâs all stay tonight and experience the new resort." Christopher, seeing this, immediately arranged the afternoon activities.
Xavier and the others were still pondering what areas needed improvement.
In the restroom, Maya stood in front of the sink, repeatedly rinsing her mouth with cold water.
Beside her, Liamâs big hand gently rested on her back, reminded, "Maya, bear with it, youâll feel better soon."
"Mm, I know, you go eat! Itâs not good without you here, Iâll be just a minute." Maya didnât want to affect othersâ meal because of herself.
Seeing her sensible demeanor, Liam felt warm inside, really liking this side of Maya.
So he hugged her tightly from behind, then turned her around so they faced each other.
He said, "One kiss, one kiss and itâll be alright."
"Nooo!" Maya pushed him slightly in refusal.
However, her refusal was ineffective.
The spicy feeling did lessen considerably.
Maya clearly felt this kiss was different from any sheâd had before.
He seemed to want to take away the spiciness from her.
Outside the restroom, Henry stood at the door, watching the intimate scene inside, unmoving!
He shouldâve left, shouldnât have come to check on her, but he ignored Asherâs persuasion and came along.
Unexpectedly seeing a scene that distressed him even more.
He stood by the door, watching the two.
Until he saw Liam holding the girlâs little face asking, "Feeling better?"
Until Maya blushingly nodded and said, "Better!" Only then did he quietly turn away and return to his seat.
At that moment, his mood was very bad, feeling oppressed.
So he poured himself quite a lot of alcohol and drank in silence.
Beside him, Asher looked at his suffering, shaking his head helplessly.
Regarding Maya, he too was powerless.
Because everyone can see Liam genuinely likes this girl, he wouldnât give her up to anyone.
When they returned to their seats, Liam kept drinking water.
Heâs been afraid of spicy from a young age and almost doesnât touch spicy, he even drinks alcohol rarely.
Just now, he put himself out there to ease Mayaâs discomfort.
Seeing Liam drinking water constantly, Maya remembered sheâd never seen him eat spicy.
Thinking of this made her heart move slightly, her first time feeling touched by Liam.
Even if it was an almost imperceptible touch; even if it was fleeting; so fleeting she thought she might just have shivered, she still handed her drink to him.
Across the table, Henry watched Mayaâs concern for Liam, feeling an inexplicable anger inside.
Could it be, he hadnât been good enough to her before? Why wasnât she at all moved?
Suddenly he stood up, walked to Maya, filled her glass and said solemnly, "Miss Hanson, congratulations!"
