Chapter 583 - I Refused
Chapter 583 of "No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother" opens introducing characters: Maya Spencer calls Liam Spencer third brother, so Sophia Bennett follows her in calling him... Find out more!
Maya Spencer calls Liam Spencer third brother, so Sophia Bennett follows her in calling him that. Little does she know, Liam will later ask her to call him brother-in-law, while she calls Maya sister."Canât you show some dignity? Canât you see I donât want to deal with you?" At this moment, Liam completely ignores the fact that sheâs Mayaâs cousin, he just feels disturbed by her.
A perfectly good afternoon, one that could have been spent blissfully with Maya, was entirely ruined by this person.
"Come on, Liam, donât be like that! If you help me win over Christopher Scott, I wonât disturb you. Iâll just be in my own relationship!" Liam finds her annoying, yet she doesnât want to see them flaunting their affection either!
Alas, she doesnât have any friends and only has a fondness for Maya, so she has no choice but to cling stubbornly to Maya.
Listening to the girlâs request, Liamâs lips curve into a cold smile; he knows Sophiaâs plan is to annoy him into helping her snag Christopher Scott.
Liam isnât someone whoâs easy to deal with, he has no interest in handling such matters. If Sophia wants to follow along, she can go ahead, as long as she can stomach the affection between him and Maya.
Sophia sees the cold smile on Liamâs lips and playfully says, "Third brother, help me invite Christopher Scott out tonight for Christmas! I promise, I wonât bother you; Iâll have my own celebration."
"Donât even think about it!" Liam dismisses her, rolling his eyes. Playing matchmaker is not his kind of thing.
Sophia sees Liamâs cold and heartless attitude and, feeling frustrated, says, "If youâre not going to help, Iâll ask Maya."
After speaking, Sophia stands up from the sofa and quickly walks over to Liam and Maya, trying to shake Maya awake. Liam picks up a cushion nearby and unceremoniously tosses it at Sophia to keep her away from Maya.
Then, he smiles warmly at Maya, leans closer to her ear, and gently says, "Maya, itâs dinner time."
Sophia, standing on the side, sees Liamâs two-faced attitude and gnashes her teeth in frustration, thinking, even if he likes Maya, he doesnât have to treat anyone else approaching Maya as an enemy!
Sophia feels unbalanced inside, resolving to steal Maya away, wondering what Liam might do then.
In her dream, Maya hears Liamâs sometimes noisy, sometimes gentle voice, and furrows her brow, slowly opening her eyes to see Sophia standing beside her, looking utterly wronged.
Maya sighs deeply, knowing without a doubt that Liam must have just hurt her feelings again.
Seeing Maya awake, Sophia immediately pulls her out from Liamâs arms and whispers seriously in her ear, "Maya, itâs Christmas Eve tonight, help me invite Christopher Scott out to celebrate."
"Iâll help you invite him, but I canât guarantee heâll show up." Maya listens to the words âChristmas Eveâ and canât help but think about how tomorrow is Seven Murrayâs engagement day.
Sheâs afraid Christopher might be in a bad mood, so she doesnât refuse Sophia, thinking it might be a good idea to get Christopher out and have him relax a bit.
Yet little does she know, at this moment, Christopher Scott is almost dying of discomfort.
So, the three of them finished dinner, changed into warm clothes, and Liam drove the two girls out.
In the car, Maya and Sophia sit together in the back row. After Sophiaâs repeated urging, Maya finally calls Christopher Scott.
Unfortunately, after several tries, the call goes through, but Christopher doesnât answer.
Eventually, she exhales deeply, shaking her head helplessly, and says, "Christopher might be at a bar, itâs too noisy, he didnât hear."
"Liam, speed up a bit." Hearing Mayaâs analysis, Sophia prompts Liam to drive faster.
Even though Christopher had snapped at her that morning, she had long since recovered, her mind filled only with thoughts of Christopher, thinking about spending Christmas Eve with him.
In the past, she almost always spent Christmas Eve with her uncle and parents, never with so many friends, especially with someone she likes. Even if Christopher doesnât like her yet, Sophia still feels very happy and blissful.
The three of them arrive at the bar early, not even nine oâclock yet.
As soon as Sophia enters the bar, her eyes immediately begin a frantic search, looking for Christopher Scottâs figure. But even after scouring the bar several times, she doesnât spot him anywhere.
A moment later, she pulls Maya aside and whispers, "Maya, Christopher isnât at the bar!"
Not seeing Christopher at the bar, Sophia begins to worry; even the pregnant Noah Owen showed up, but Christopher hasnât come.
And thereâs also Seven Murray and Ian Hobbs who havenât arrived.
Oddly enough, Sophia feels something must have happened to Christopher; heâs definitely encountered something, otherwise, how could he miss Christmas Eve tonight?
Recalling this morning in Christopherâs office, the way he threw things at her, she becomes increasingly anxious.
If she canât see Christopher soon, she might worry herself to death.
Maya sees Sophiaâs concern, raises her right hand, and pats her arm to comfort her: "Donât worry, Iâll try calling him again."
In Mayaâs subconscious, she also feels something might have happened to Christopher.
Usually when she calls Christopher, after three rings he would certainly pick up, but not today. And with Sevenâs engagement tomorrow, Maya fears Christopher might do something foolish.
So she calls him repeatedly, but Christopher still doesnât answer.
"Maya, whatâs wrong?" Liam sees the two girls standing uneasily in front of the bar counter, so he grabs Mayaâs wrist and asks with concern.
"Third brother, I canât get through to Christopher, Iâve called him dozens of times, but he doesnât answer." Maya is feeling a bit anxious.
"Call Seven." Liam says calmly.
"Okay!" Maya responds and calls Seven Murray.
On the other end of the line, Seven snuggles in Ian Hobbsâ arms, her eyes still red and swollen, she takes a deep breath, trying to act casually. "Maya, have you arrived at the bar? Ian and I are on our way."
"Yes! Weâre here." Then Maya adds, "Seven, have you seen Christopher today? He hasnât come, and he hasnât answered his phone when I call."
Upon hearing Christopherâs name, Seven hesitates for a moment, then calmly says, "I saw him in the afternoon, at the Fruit CafĂŠ."
"Did you two have a fight?" Maya originally didnât want to pry, but without understanding the situation, she wonât know Christopherâs mood, nor where to find him.
"No, we didnât fight. Christopher said he wanted a fresh start, but I refused." At this moment, Sevenâs mood is much better than in the afternoon.
"Okay, I see, Iâll try contacting him again." Maya says before hanging up the phone.
Immediately after, she starts dialing Christopherâs number again, praying in her heart, hoping that Christopher doesnât have any troubles, and above all, doesnât do anything foolish.
Although Christopher seems carefree, Maya knows he has a strong ego.
