"Maya, I donât care. If you donât help me, Iâll stick to you and wonât leave." Sophia said as she hugged Elia Spencerâs arm, pulling her along, not letting her go."Let go of me!" Liam Spencer struggled hard, trying to break free from Sophia.
Liam Spencer, watching on the side, felt a headache. These two girls werenât really fighting, so he couldnât intervene physically to persuade them.
As they tugged at each other in the corridor, Sophia suddenly pulled open the buttons on Mayaâs clothes and the collar of her dress.
She saw the marks on Mayaâs fair skin and was stunned, feeling a bit confused.
Although she had chased quite a few men, her first kiss was only recently given to Christopher Scott, so she was momentarily stunned, not knowing what the marks on Mayaâs body were about.
After a moment of daze, when she came to her senses, she immediately raised her right hand, pointed at Maya, and said with amazement as if she had discovered a new world, "Oh... Maya, you and Liam Spencer are really out of line."
Then she quickly ran to Liam, tugged at his collar, and found that he had similar marks on his body too.
Sophia felt tormented, thinking to herself that it was too unfair for these two not to show up today. While she hadnât even won Christopher over yet, how could they be like this?
So, she pretended to be upset, saying, "No way! No way! Iâm going to tell Uncle,
"..." Maya listened to Sophiaâs threat, feeling like crying but having no tears.
Besides, in this day and age, when people are together, of course, theyâd want to get to know each other before marriage. Maya was getting a headache from Sophiaâs antics, not wanting her to loudly announce her and Liamâs private matters, as it would be utterly embarrassing.
Therefore, she quickly grabbed Sophiaâs wrist, helplessly asking, "Sophia, what do you really want? Iâm genuinely tempted to hit you."
"Hehe! I donât want much, just that my dear sister and brother-in-law help get Christopher to remove me from his phoneâs blacklist and then match us together, and I will pretend like I saw nothing and know nothing." This was Sophiaâs barefaced threat.
Listening to Sophiaâs threat, Maya was so mad she ground her teeth, thinking how even acknowledging a father came with such a shameless sister?
She bit her lower lip tightly, caught in a dilemma. If she agreed with Sophia, wouldnât it mean sheâd have to pester Christopher shamelessly like Sophia? She couldnât bring herself to that, and it was for someone elseâs feelings, no less.
Liam, seeing this, curled his lips into a cynical smile and said indifferently, "Sophia, I canât make Christopher take you off his blacklist, nor match you two together; but if you dare spread nonsense, I can make sure Christopher never sees you again in his life. Which do you think is more worth it?"
"..." Sophia looked at the hint of coldness on Liamâs face, listening to his threat, and pouted with grievance.
She initially thought she had grasped something to threaten the two with, not expecting Liam to counter her with a trick and outmaneuver her.
The most annoying part was that Liam, her brother-in-law, didnât give her any face, leaving her mortifyingly embarrassed.
Consequently, she dejectedly looped her arm through Mayaâs and started to wheedle, "Maya, please help me! I havenât seen Christopher in 11 days, no matter how I call, I canât get through. Please let him take me off the blacklist, okay?"
Since the hard tactics didnât work, she had to resort to soft ones.
"Iâm not going to tangle with you anymore; I need to go see my dad." Maya, seeing Sophia subdued by Liam, was overjoyed, thinking, only Liam could handle a rogue like Sophia.
In fact, only Liam could deal with someone so incorrigible like her.
When the three returned to the ward, James Bennett was doing some simple exercises by the floor-to-ceiling window.
Hearing Maya and the othersâ voices, he immediately turned around, welcoming them with a smile, saying, "Youâre here!"
"Uncle!" Sophia unwillingly called out, as if she had suffered a great grievance.
"Dad, feeling better today?" Maya asked with a smile.
"Much better today. Iâve discussed with the doctor to get discharged the day after tomorrow; we can have a family gathering that evening." James, having taken a trip to the edge of life, had achieved Mayaâs forgiveness and was in a fantastic mood, wanting to have a family reunion dinner.
"Great!" Maya agreed with a smile, after all, it wouldnât be her first time dining at Jamesâs house; this time, it was just with the addition of Sophiaâs parents, which was no big deal.
Sophia, hearing about the family gathering, frowned, thinking, âYou all are reuniting, but I havenât reunited.â
She was still single, and continuing to watch Liam and Maya flaunt their affection was going to make her collapse.
Thus, she resolved to secure Christopher and bring him back this time.
So, she cheerfully said, "Uncle, if I bring a friend back, you wonât mind, right? Anyway, heâs going to be part of our family sooner or later."
"..." Maya sweated profusely, thinking, Sophia with no significant progression, dares to make such wild claims. If Christopher didnât give her face, wouldnât she just be inviting embarrassment?
"Oh! Sophia, have you secured a boyfriend? Feel free to bring him back so we can see." James seemed a bit surprised at her mentioning bringing someone back for the meal.
He hadnât expected that Sophiaâs antics truly ended up successfully pursuing someone; she indeed had a few tricks up her sleeve.
Therefore, early the next morning, Sophia got up bright and early, got herself all prettied up, and headed to the Scott Clan Group to find Christopher.
During the days James was in a coma, she temporarily put Christopher aside, having not seen him for over ten days, she felt somewhat excited to see him again.
As she drove, she self-consciously chuckled, "Itâs been so long since I saw Christopher, I wonder if he missed me? He must feel unaccustomed to me suddenly not chasing him."
Imagining Christopher being very excited and holding her saying he missed her when he sees her later, she almost drooled.
As for the matter of Christopher not lifting her off the phone blacklist, she just chalked it up to Christopher being too busy and forgetting; after all, Sophia was such a self-deluding girl.
In the Chairmanâs office of the Scott Clan Group, Christopher Scott was, as usual, busy with work, completely unaware that his brief tranquil life was about to end, and Sophia was about to clamor around him again.
"Knock, knock, knock..." He had barely arrived at the office when the door was knocked on.
"Please come in!" Christopher said calmly to come in.
Then, the office door was pushed open, and Sophia popped her head in with a bright smile, calling out, "Christopher."
Hearing Sophia suddenly appear, Christopher felt his scalp tingle. He quickly lifted his head, stared at Sophia intently, and even held his breath.
